"We recently had some major flooding in our house. The laminate flooring was damaged to the point that it needed to be replaced. I received 3 quotes and decided on High Class Flooring. Terry arrived to measure for the quote and was very professional and answered all of our questions . From the quote to job completion, we were completely satisfied with our choice. Robert emailed the completed quote 2/28. I selected them for the job on 3/5. High Class Flooring work closely with LL Flooring and are able to provide a significant discount. They went above and beyond by delivering the flooring to our house (for a minimalfee). We went with vinyl plank and couldn't be happier. Terry, Ty, and Robert arrived promptly at 8:00 on Monday (day 1). By 8:15, they were already removing baseboards. By the time they left on day 1, they had completed 2/3 of the job. Day 2 was no different, arriving at 8:00, the guys went right to work. This day included installing flooring in the bathroom, which included removal and replacement of the toilet. It turned out perfectly. The quality and professionalism displayed by Robert and his team was very refreshing. We don't have anything negative to add and are are totally thrilled with their work."

"Linky's did a great job cleaning the tile floors throughout the home. The carpet is worn in places but overall the carpet came up very well. I appreciated that they were prompt, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. There were a few spots on the carpet and those all came out. Thank you for outstanding results."

"Manny and his assistants attention to detail is amazing. I hired Mannyâ s Home Remodel and Repair, Inc. company to demo and replace my whole house flooring. They demoed carpet and tile throughout an area of 2500 sq. ft and replaced with porcelain wood like tile planks and they installed 5.25â baseboards throughout our home. My floors look amazing. His prices are also very reasonable. Donâ t hesitate, contact Manny for a quote. We will definitely be hiring Mannyâ s Home Remodel and Repair for future projects."

"The technician was on time, polite, and considerate of my comfort. He tried his best to get all the grout to look the same. When he found a couple of spots that he couldn t clean enough to match, he called the office for help on what else he could do. Very satisfied! Floors look great!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.

Yes, you can put rugs and carpet on heated floors. However, carpet is not the most efficient for heated floors. The carpet pad and pile can prevent the heat from penetrating into the room. Rugs may also prevent heat from reaching your feet. You will get the most from your heated floors if you use thin rugs so that a maximum amount of heat can penetrate the room. You may find you do not need rugs to warm a space, thanks to the radiant heat coming up through your feet.

In a wet room, you need a floor that won’t sustain damage with constant exposure to water, but your options are normally the same as with a bathroom. Ceramic and porcelain tile are suitable options, as are natural stone like granite and marble, much like in a standard bathroom. Since a wet room’s floor is more likely to be wet, you should choose a flooring option with some texture to reduce how slippery the material gets.

When you install laminate flooring, you have to install spacers (also called expansion gaps) along the edges. This space along the edges gives the flooring the room it needs to naturally expand and contract. When you don't have an expansion gap, you can end up with damaged or warped planks. This can lead to uneven flooring, which is unsightly and can cause a trip hazard.

It depends on what’s important to you. For instance, if you’re looking for the lowest-priced carpet material, consider polyester. Alternatively, you could go with olefin (also known as polypropylene), another synthetic carpet material that costs about the same as polyester. Otherwise, if durability is the priority, nylon or wool would be a better choice.

Not sure what you need? A local carpet installer can explain the difference between various carpet types and help you decide what’s best for your home.
