Great job moving and tuning the piano. Although it’s important to note that the price may go up $100 once they reach you “for this or that” various reason. Also important to note tuning IS NOT included in the quote the owner gives you- though their wording in conversation may be a little misleading for some. Quoted $250 for transporting and tuning. Ended up paying $350 for transport (even though they drove to van into the yard and literally right TO the room door where it was to be delivered… then an additional $195 charged for tuning. Total: $545.00 Overall the tuning was done well and they were very careful with the piano, just need some work on customer service…

The best piano movers in Atlanta. I’ve moved several times and tried several different moving and tuning companies. Pascal and his team were by far the best. They were extremely professional and were able to get the piano out of my old house with expert care. Upon getting to my new house they dealt with the more challenging entry stairs with the knowledge and experience he want as someone transports your 1000 pound baby. Once installed I quickly learned that Pascal is one of the most experienced piano tuners in Atlanta. He took extra time and my piano has never sounded so good. A 440 provides top quality service with reasonable pricing. They are clearly the best piano movers i’ve ever used.

We cannot say enough about the team at A440 Pianos. Our family had originally located the piano from a lady who no longer needed it and moved it by hand to their home. It took 4 family members , a rented truck, a couple of hours and a few sore backs the next day to get the job done. After that episode, our family decided to use Pascal and his team to move it to our home as the piano was a surprise gift to us for painting and artistic fun. Our family was thrilled with how efficient, prompt and affordable A440 was. We will NEVER personally move a piano without his help...LOL

Pascal was wonderful! After calling many piano movers, I found a440 on Angie's list with high reviews. His price was fair and included tuning. I support the high reviews fully! Pascal, the owner of the company, was extremely responsive, timely, and professional. He kept in contact with me so that I was aware of the timing and he moved a piano, locally, with ease. He tuned it by ear and allowed my kids to help. Also, when he found a broken string, he was honest with me that it could be handled later (due to two strings) and did not try to up sell or take advantage. I will recommend him to others!

AMAZING ... 5th generation family business, they know what they're doing and I would never call anyone else. I felt my little residential move was treated with the same care and professionalism as if I were one of the countless well known businesses/universities they service regularly.

Professional and without dramas. Showed up on time, patiently waited ~20 minutes till piano owner showed up, then moved it to new location. Charged $30-$50 less than the competition.

Wonderfully. They did a fantastic job. I was amazed at how easy it all went. We even have about 7 brick steps up to the front door and they navigated like it was no problem.

Pascal charged $195 and although the piano wasn't playing correctly yet, he told us it would work fine if we sprayed WD-40 on the problem parts. He showed us where to spray it and said "you can't spray too much". Against my better judgement I applied WD-40 as directed. It did not fix the problem. This was all after he told me on the phone that he was sure he could repair the piano quickly and cheaply. A couple of weeks later we had another piano technician come out. She was horrified at the WD-40. She got a special piano lubricant and a long application tool from her van. As she applied the lubricant she explained that even if we had the correct lubricant, we wouldn't be able to reach the problem area without her special tool. Pascal had told us too lube the wrong parts. Hopefully no long term damage has been done as a result of letting Pascal work on my piano.
Response from A440 PIANOS
"Customer was well aware that the piano needed extensive work in order to make it work better and an estimate of $495 was offered at the time but customer declined the work. We provided information for a quick fix that would possibly work and did not offer any certainty or offer charged for the information we also showed the customer where to buy a better lubricant on the internet to possibly fix the problem. The $195 charge was related to piano tuning nothing else... i guess with customer like you we should avoid any free advice and let you figure it out yourself to avoid spoiling our impeccable reputation!!!"

Pascal, the owner of A440, exceeded my expectations in every way. He was right on time to pick up the piano. Upon arrival, he tuned the piano, filed the hammers, took out the keyboard and completely cleaned the piano before wrapping it and strapping it into his van. Pascal needed to wait for another delivery so he stored my piano in a temperature controlled warehouse awaiting shipment to Louisiana. Within a week, Pascal let me know that he would be leaving to make my delivery in New Orleans. Once again, he was right on time. The piano was expertly reassembled and tuned. Pascal is a master pianist and his passion for music shows. I totally respect the fact that he does the work himself which guarantees consistency and quality. If you are moving your precious piano, you can totally trust A440 to get the job done right at a fair price.

Went well. I was a little worried about it actually getting moved because Pascal preferred texting. Didn't respond to my last question so I got concerned. Ultimately was fine and showed up with the piano earlier than I expected. He opened it up and showed me a lot of the guts and things I would need to do to get it working perfectly, then proceeded to casually play for a few seconds. Since the piano was heavier than expected he charged me $17 more than I expected...but no big deal there.

Second time I have used 440 pianos but  will not again. He mostly corresponded via text. No emailed confirmations of schedule or cost. I had to initiate confirmation correspondence to be sure he showed up on time and when I called him he didn't remember the schedule, location or anything about the appointment. Thankfully he did show up on time, although I called him the morning of to remind him. I told him over the phone that he would need ramps for stairs both at the current home and new home and told him how many stairs.
He shows up at the new home on time with one helper. Doesn't set up any ramps, doesn't put the piano on a skid. lifts the piano by himself on the dolly. If it had gone too far he would have dropped it. Use a blanket to slide the piano down the stairs and then needed my help to get the piano dolly under it again. Did not use a ramp down the second set of steps and end up drop about 6" down to the next step with a loud thud. Straps the piano into the van while still on the furniture dolly.
At the new house I required him to use ramps but again he needed help to get the piano up the stairs.
No apparent damage was done to the piano during the moving process. He did remove the front key cover and remove a pencil that got lodged behind the cover during the moving process. Applied some wood polish to some scratches not made during the moving process.
At the end he asked me how much money he had quoted me (seeming to hope I had forgotten). I told him $395 as previously discussed and he said he wouldn't normally move a baby grand with stairs for so cheap. I reminded him that informed him of all the details of the move including all the stairs over the phone when he quoted me the job. He asked if I wanted additional tuning and repairs and I refused any additional work.
Overall I felt the moving process was lazy and unprofessional. It's not that hard to set up a ramp that you already have in your truck and use a piano skid that is sitting strapped in your truck. They just didn't want to take the time to do the job right.
If I hand't continued your reach out and remind him of the job I'm pretty sure he would have forgotten and not showed up at all. His price was $30 cheaper than the other guy I called but in the end $30 would have been cheap compared to a possible broken piano due to lazy work or a no show.,

"We are sorry our way of moving your piano did not meet your expectation but as you said the piano arrived in perfect condition and we offered some additional service like removing a pencil inside the piano by removing the action mechanism at no extra charge... It is true that we ask customer to confirm appointment a day before otherwise you cannot be assure that we will show up unless somebody picks up the phone."

It went very well. They showed up on time. They had a ramp for the stairs, 1 dolly for the smooth floors, another dolly with large fat wheels to navigate over the lawn and the uneven rocks at the entrance to the new house.  Pascal was very polite and funny.  I look forward to seeing him again in 3 months as the piano will need to be tuned again at that time (again had been very out of tune for a long time).

"THIS PIANO was very badly out of tune and a stable tuning is not possible within one simple visit since the strings are stretching quite a bit when a piano is that flat however we can provide a free touch up tuning exceptionally this time since our goal it to achieve 100% customer satisfaction."
