"I recently had new windows installed by Eastern Coast, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, he was professional, punctual, and detail-oriented. Cole took the time to explain the installation process, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was done right. The quality of the work is outstanding — the windows fit perfectly, look fantastic, and have already made a noticeable difference in energy efficiency and noise reduction. Cole’s craftsmanship really stands out, and he left the area spotless once the job was done. If you’re looking for someone reliable and skilled for window installation, I highly recommend Cole. He delivers great results and takes pride in his work."

"Great, really good job.David Hughes of Total Home Roofing arrived very promptly and explained his company services. I really did not know about peel seal as this was my first experience of handling this myself. He made me feel comfortable and explained everything . The workmen arrived prior to 7am on the first day. Could not believe it but they worked till after 6:30pm on first day. Next day inspection. 3rd day here they came at 6:45am and finished at Noon. Amazing. Quality workmanship. I will highly recommend David and his Company "Total Home Roofing". Oh the price was very competitive with everyone else I had bids by. Thank you David."

"Had three new sliders installed so I would not have water enter during any storms. Last year I had the original sliders in my condo during Hurricane Mathew and never had any water issues. These original sliders were cheap and not very energy efficient. So I decided to get new ones installed to become more energy efficient and to be extra safe against any possibility of water entering. I was told the sliders were energy efficient, which they are and water would not be an issue. During Hurricane Irma, I had water enter between the siders and the concrete floor. I believe Hurricane Mathew last year was stronger than Irma and I had no water enter my old cheap sliders. I contacted the company after the storm and they came out and caulked the door and was told I should not have any more issues. I asked if they were going to help with the floor repair and they told me they would check. Just this past weekend we had another good rain and I noticed the concrete at the base of the door was becoming wet. I called the company again and advised them of the issue and still waiting for a response for the floor repair and the new leak. Before this happened I was considering on getting some windows replaced, but now having second thoughts because if my old slider didn't give me problems, maybe I should just keep my old windows. What good is getting anything done if they can not hold up to the elements. I hope the company helps me out because others in my complex are looking at getting new sliders installed and they know my issue."

"After detailed measuring they ordered the shutters.  The sliding glass door upstairs going out to a porch was a problem because the porch floor sloped to drain rain and the shutter had to be "customized."  Jack did a great job.  They were here from 10 a.m. to after 4 p.m.  They were very knowledgeable and professional and wanted the job to be perfect.  Jack is even coming back in a couple of days just to check and make sure the concrete filler doesn't slip.
In June they pressure cleaned and lubed my existing shutters and made sure they would open and close properly.  I will definitely have them again next year for maintenance.

"Juan Penafiel and co-worker very professional , work was completed in a timely manner He showed me the work he was doing by taking pictures at each step. Cleaned up area when finished . I have used Panda Roof in the past because of Isaac Perez, because of his integrity and professionalism' he discusses the roofing problem by showing you the pictures, so you actually see the problems. His office then sends the estimate along with the pictures for your perusal. I have and will continue to recommend Panda Roof because of Isaac Perez and his employees who I had the pleasure of dealing with like Jill and Loure in the office and his roofing crew.. Again all professional."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass block mortar is the best choice for glass block window units. It is specifically formulated for glass block window installation. Glass block mortar is usually a mixture of Portland cement, sand, and special chemicals. It is a white mortar that is applicable inside and outside your home. Do not use regular tile mortar because it may not have the binding strength and flexibility required for glass block windows.

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Although glass block windows are made of multiple layers of thick glass, they can still break. If an individual block shatters, it can be removed and replaced, but this is a job for a window repair professional. The project is often complex and may require breaking the block further for removal. Do not attempt to handle it yourself, as the broken glass can be dangerously sharp. A professional will have the necessary tools and expertise to replace the broken glass block quickly and safely. Before hiring, confirm that the repair pro has experience with this specific type of window.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.
