"Awesome. They replaced a tile, fixed missing grout and cleaned all of the tile in our house. They made our tile look like it did 11 years ago when the house was built."

"Linky’s came to clean our tile floor. The team arrived when they said they would, gave me a quote and got right to work. The result was 1900 sq feet of beautifully clean tile and grout. In addition they were able to clean my hearth which is made of porous tile and removed the pet stains from the surface as well. They completed the job efficiently in a couple of hours. I am thrilled with the results. I highly recommend them!"

"Kim and her son, Connor, were very pleasant to work with. They provided a service that I had not heard of before which was staining the grout between my ceramic tile. I had been very unhappy with inconsistent "dirty-looking" grout and wanted to tear up my entire floor. Since Remedy Surface Care stained the grout the new color I chose, then buffed the tile, I am very happy and my floor looks like new."

"I hired this company to remove my tile and wood flooring out of my 1964 house so the underlying terrazzo could be pollished and brought to all its glory. To all of our surprise, only half the house was terrazzo. So from there, Carlos and I discussed where to go from there. We decided to level the concrete foundation to match the same level as the terrazzo (about 5/8") so I can float vinal floors. They did a wonderful job and leveled my floor better than the previous contractors. From their, they helped put me in contact with other contractors who specialize in wood and vinyl floors. 10 out 10 will hire them to epoxy my garage floors."

"Joe called me and tried to work around my schedule as I had to drive 40 minutes to get to the house that needed carpet and tile cleaned after our renovation. We arranged a time and he was on time and did a great job. I would call him again for carpet and tile cleaning needs. Thanks Joe!"

"Arrived within the time frame they told us. Very curtious, explained exactly what they were going to perform. We were concerned the marks on tile wouldn't come out. Turned out the ceramic tile was wearing out. After job was done you could barely see the marks'"

"We interviewed 5 other tile installers before selecting Nick from Isles Installation. We are extremely happy with our choice. He was easy to work with, he responded very quickly to any communication, he was on time, his work was of the highest quality and in all ways exceeded our expectations."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Thinset mortar is the best adhesive for ceramic tiles on concrete. It is easy to work with and has a slower dry time than mastic or epoxy mortars. This longer dry time gives the installer more time to adjust tiles, which is especially useful for DIYers who may not have tile installation experience. It can also be built up to help level any depressions or gaps in the concrete subfloor.

Yes, provided you aren’t installing drywall over it. But you can skim coat it, apply new tile right on top, paint it, or stencil it. For more budget- and DIY-friendly options, you can install beadboard or apply decals. Just make sure that the current tiles are in good condition and prepped well for the paint or adhesive to stick.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.
