"Eddy & his Brother William were a god send. The fixer upper that we recently purchased was built in 1985. TPA Flooring Company refinished ugly red parquet floors to a beautiful new warm light brown tone. They then installed new floors that match the color perfectly. They are complete experts at what they do. They kept us updated every step of the way during our remodel process. Simply the best team to work with ever! I donâ t have words for how strongly we would recommend using this Company"

"The installation of the tile was great, it was professional and done by a couple of apparently very qualified persons. The only "fly in the ointment" was the re-installation of the toilet stool was botched, the plastic ring partially jammed the flange and while it allowed urine to pass into the sewer system, bowel movements and toilet tissue didn't completely make it into the sewer system. A second flush only raised the water level and overflowed the toilet. I had to call in the plumbing contractor to finish the job and make the toilet operational again."

"I couldn't be happier with the flooring work done on my home! From start to finish, the communication was outstanding — they kept me informed every step of the way, answered all my questions promptly, and made the whole process stress-free. The pricing was excellent and very fair — I got multiple quotes and these guys offered the best value by far without any hidden fees or surprises. The quality of the work speaks for itself; my floors look absolutely incredible. If you're looking for a flooring company that's professional, honest, and easy to work with, look no further. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When choosing tiles for a shower floor, avoid highly porous tile materials, like those with a water absorption rating over 7%. Don’t use non-vitreous tiles, or tiles fired at low temperatures, because they will absorb more water. If you use a highly porous tile in the shower, the tiles can wear down faster, meaning they’ll need to be replaced much sooner.

In some cases, granite tiles can be installed over existing flooring if the surface is level, stable, and free of moisture issues. However, removing old flooring is often recommended to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation, as well as to avoid height differences at thresholds. Consult with your flooring pro to determine the best approach based on your specific situation.

Porcelain tiles can last 60 years or longer. With high-quality tiles and proper installation, your porcelain tiles may even outlive you, making them well worth the initial investment.

To help your porcelain tiles last longer, you should clean and maintain them regularly. You don’t need any harsh chemicals to get the job done. Rather, use a cloth, hot water, and mild detergent. And don’t forget to learn how to clean floor tile grout, as that’s just as important as tile maintenance.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

While you shouldn’t use thinset mortar on its own as a floor leveler, it can work alongside other products to help level floors. For instance, you could start with a self-leveling compound, let that dry, then apply backer board with thinset mortar to help fully even out the floors ahead of laying tile.
