Small jobs welcome

"AJ was on the phone with me within minutes of the Angi work request, on a Sunday. He was professional, courteous, and prompt — job completed same day with impressive results. His robotic machine is powerful, it completely destroyed the tree stump and all major roots. He is the go-to guy for tree cutting and stump grinding work. Thank you for a job well done."

"Patrick and his team took down my palms, did solid work grinding away the stumps, and cleaned the place up - did an excellent job all around. Professional and on time. In the end they went above and beyond the initial service to help me get one step closer to completing my landscape project. I would recommend these guys 100 times over. "Adam was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and fast. He cut down a large palm tree in my front lawn. The yard, sidewalk and driveway was cleaned up and immaculate when they completed the job. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Adam and his company."

"Jose was quick to respond and the work was completed within 24 hours of my inquiry. He did a great job removing overgrown tree branches that were leaning on our roof. Because that was the most urgent work needed, we realized there was much more landscaping and weeding needed that we will be hiring him again for additional maintenance. He was not the least expensive but the quickest to respond and was very helpful and professional and kept his promise. He also made sure the roof was free of debris when he was finished. I would recommend this company."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Planting trees far enough from your foundation will protect your home from root damage, but if you’re dealing with existing trees, you can still guard against roots. Root barriers form a physical boundary that will prevent roots from encroaching on your foundation and can help save you from expensive foundation repair costs.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
