"These folks are great!  The first couple of years that I had this central AC installed, the main HVAC unit would freeze up and flood the closet and adjacent areas.
After paying another company for the same repair for three years, I finally ditched them and called Weathershield.  They came out, noticed that I had a bad thermostat, replace that, serviced the unit and I haven't had a problem since then.
The folks are super polite, arrive on time and have had my AC purring now for over four years now.  Can't say enough.

"Raphael from Freezing Point Air Conditioning came out and accessed my issue, and provided a true honest resolution and within minutes fixed my A/C, compared to the competitor the arrived hours earlier. Always get a second a opinion, getting a second opinion from a true professional like the folks at Freezing Point Air Conditioning, can save your several $1000's of dollars. And that is probably the best piece of mind I could give to others. The following day, after some concerns I had from the prior competitor, Lazaro from Freezing point diagnosed a non issue of leaking Schrader and tighten it at no charge, the competitor appeared to have loosen it to try to sell me a new unit. The folks at Freezing Point Air Conditioning, know what they are doing and are in the business to earn your trust; They work on friends and family recommendations, compared to their competitor trying to make their monthly quotes. I would highly recommend Freezing Point Air Conditioning, LLC."

"Expedite response from my crashed A/C (dead) in the middle of summer time in Miami (hot and humid) and staying home due to Covid-19 and a family of 4 people. Quick response from first call, assertive evaluations, timely recommendations, detailed quote and finance options provided same day. Almost 24 hours after evaluation they started and completed a very professional new installation (Saturday morning), well equipped, performing with full attention to details, very respectful and nice crew. We slept like babies after 3 nights with our 17 years old broken A/C. Very thankful to Yudel Cubillas (owner) and teamwork you save the day for us. I fully recommended."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To extend your HVAC system’s lifespan, it’s crucial to keep up with maintenance. This includes changing filters and thermostat batteries, keeping the outside unit clean and clear of clutter, and lubricating moving parts. Watch out for leaks, mold buildup, and blockages to ensure your unit stays in good working order. Spotting these issues early can be the difference between a simple, wallet-friendly repair and an expensive replacement.

Running a window air conditioner unit costs about $0.06 to $0.88 per hour. Choosing the correct size air conditioner can help it run more efficiently.

As a general rule, you should have your HVAC system professionally serviced at least once a year, though it's best to follow the manufacturer's specific recommendations. Many experts suggest twice-yearly maintenance: once in the spring for the cooling system and once in the fall for the heating system. This is especially recommended for older units, systems with recurring issues, or heat pumps that provide both heating and cooling. Regular service, which can cost between $100 and $550, keeps the system running efficiently, helps prevent costly future repairs, and saves money on utility bills.

There are two main reasons your furnace and AC are turning on at the same time. The first could be that you’re confusing the furnace with the blower. The blower is located in the furnace and will turn on to distribute cool air from the air conditioner through the ductwork in the home. This is normal. If the actual furnace is turning on at the same time as the AC and hot and cool air are coming into the home, it could be a result of incorrect writing to a new thermostat or new systems.

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.
