Armstrong’s Cleaning & Restoration Services is a family owned and operated independent firm specializing in restoration work including but not limited to, water damage, mold remediation and fire restoration in both residential and commercial settings. Our staff and entire team at Armstrong’s is certified through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Armstrong’s holds the some of the highest degrees of certifications and designations in the industry to assure that we stay current on the latest and most advanced technology and equipment that ultimately serves as a major advantage to our clients in every category of service. Our focus at Armstrong’s Cleaning & Restoration Services is to provide exceptional customer service in every aspect of our business so that our clients are serviced with a higher degree of attention, detail and care. It’s a new standard set by Armstrong’s to recognize the importance of every situation whether it be to improve indoor air quality at your home or when disaster is present such as a fire or water damage restoration project.

"Based on the many reviews I had high hopes for Armstrong repairing water intrusion, and damage to my wood floors. Things started out OK with the easy part, removing wood planks with mold, drywall and applying antimicrobial spray. Then things dragged on with unkept promises to get someone over to evaluate the wood floors and further develop the plan. Most of the latter was being done with the “project manager” showing photos to others with experience or opinions. When the conclusion was a need to break through from the inside of the house to the outside through the stucco, I asked for more clarity, like someone actually coming over, showing me the what and why, so I understood better before assuming they had found the right source of the intrusion and solution. Previously another professional had inspected the damage and he had a different opinion. This person had 6 licenses, including building contractor, roofing contractor, and mold remediation. Armstrong’s initial response to my request for more clarity was “then why not have your friend do the work?” I explained this was not a friend, but a referral, and the man being semi-retired did not have the crew to do that small a job these days (and he also had great reviews). But that was not the point. I simply wanted someone to come over and show me what needed to be done and why before creating holes in my exterior wall. We made an appointment for 11am on a weekday and I worked my schedule around that. No one showed up! By 11:30am I called the missing project manager, Jason. Oh, he had intended to notify me by email that he wasn’t coming, they weren’t going to do the work they had started because they were already backlogged, and give me names of other possible contractors. Sadly, this was consistent with telling me he would have the floor guy come over and discuss what could be done, and that too never occurred. Maybe on really big jobs these folks are more motivated? But still, show some basic respect and keep your word or cancel an appointment instead of just not show up. I also left a message for the two owners to please call me. I never heard from them either. Fortunately, I did find an alternative company and they have been reliable. These folks were thinking along similar lines as Armstrong, but had the professionalism to take the time, finish the exploratory work that Armstrong didn’t, and explain options with clarity. And they have been reliable and professional. I realize there are many positive reviews here, and I’m sure there is some explanation for this. But since the owners didn’t bother to return a simple phone call so we could discuss it, and have a project manager who just blows off appointments, getting quality service at Armstrong seems to be a random event."

"Our Hot Water heater flooded in the middle of the night so the very next morning, we called Moshe (EES Owner) to hire his company for their dry out services. Moishe was referred to us by a friend, and we were happy and more willing to give them our business. When they arrived, I took them around the house and showed them the areas that had been flooded. The EES crew got to work and at first, I thought they knew what they were doing. They began pulling base boards, rugs, crown moldings, and drilling holes. Then, they started putting up fans and dehumidifiers around the house. A couple hours in to the dry out and I started feeling uneasy about the company's work. At this point, the conversations turned from 'don't worry about a thing' to a fear tactic about 'how the insurance would or wouldn't pay.' Later, they presented a large contract for us to sign saying it was the only way the insurance would pay. We were exhausted and nervous about signing it but I wasn’t sure we had a choice with the situation at hand. At the end of the first day, we noticed there were baseboards torn down in the area’s that weren’t flooded. The flooded area about 5 feet away from the water heater still had the baseboards up. They were using large dehumidifiers as fans. I was told by another dry out expert that this was done to inflate the bill. Also, holes were drilled, and fans put against walls that were barely affected by the water. However, they were missing in parts that were flooded, including my daughters’ room, which, when later tested, showed the wood was soaked with water. Rugs were pulled up and sent to the cleaners that weren’t affected by the water Additionally, at no point did they test or show any of us the spots that were wet or any dry out logs from their dehumidifiers. They had moved our bed to pick up the rug underneath but did not put it back together correctly. So at the end of a long horrible day, we laid down to have our bed break and caved inwards. The next morning, we decided to get another professional opinion concerning the dry out process and it confirmed our worst fears. The new company took inferred pictures and moister readings to show us how bad Express Emergency Services was doing. They showed us that my daughters’ room and how the wood floors (which hadn’t been examined by EES) were full of water. So, on the 2nd night, and less than 48 hours in, we decided to hire another dry out company to finish the job. However, EES wasn’t happy about this decision, and they tried to get me to sign a document saying they had completed the job. Soon after, they billed me and my insurance for a total of $9,9095.80 even though the insurance company only deemed their work worth and paid them $3128.74, which was more than fair for the industry standards. My entire experience with this company has been nightmare"

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

Asbestos itself does not typically leak from a roof. However, if an asbestos-containing roof is damaged or deteriorated, it can release asbestos fibers into the air. This can occur when the roof is disturbed, such as during maintenance or repairs, or due to weathering over time. Exposure to airborne asbestos fibers can be harmful to health, so it is important to address any damaged asbestos roofs promptly and safely.

You are not really supposed to seal asbestos with paint, but in theory it could work—the caveat being that this is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. The only real way to seal asbestos is with the professional application of an encapsulating material like epoxy. Due to the negative effect asbestos can have on your home, however, it is usually the best course of action to accept a costly fix and remove the material entirely.

Often found in old insulation, tiles, and roofing materials in pre-1980s buildings.

It is not recommended that you drill into asbestos siding, as you could release its hazardous fibers into the air. The best way for dealing with asbestos-containing materials is to have a professional remove or encapsulate it.

To seal off, or encapsulate, asbestos-containing materials in your home, you’ll need to utilize a sealant specifically designed for asbestos encapsulation. These sealants bind with asbestos fibers to keep them from spreading throughout the air and causing bodily harm. In many cases, these sealants can be simply painted on, but you’ll need to wear a protective body suit as well as an asbestos-rated respirator to interact with these materials safely.
