"I reside in MD which I called six contractors to replace T1-11 siding on my son's house in West Palm Beach, Florida. Charles with Aluminum One called me back within five minutes. I never heard back from the other contractors. Charles and his employee Norris went to meet my son to look at the house and discussed how he would go about doing the work. Charles was very fair with his pricing. Norris was very detailed on his work down to making sure every nail was placed properly. They even installed insulation to help cool down the house. There aren't enough words to express how happy we are with Norris the installer. I don't think there isn't anything he can't do. It was nice that Norris kept us informed every step of the way and went above an beyond what any other contractor has ever done in my past experience. Once the vinyl siding was complete I asked him to help my son install two screen doors. We will definitely be reaching out to Norris for other work that is needed. Aluminum One gets 5 Stars and Norris gets 10 Stars! Thank you again for a job well done. We highly recommend Aluminum One Shutters and Siding Inc."

"We got lucky with these guys. They were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and honest.. The work entailed removing kitchen cabinets and walls due to water damage that turned into mold. My whole family was sick. After the remediation, they sanitized the whole house, furnishings, and the AC units. Thank you Angle List for sending me these guys!"

Asbestos Removal FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, professionals are trained to conduct safe renovations post-asbestos removal, ensuring comprehensive safety and compliance with regulatory standards. They provide reconstruction and restoration services to restore the integrity and appearance of affected areas.

Often found in old insulation, tiles, and roofing materials in pre-1980s buildings.

Most manufacturers stopped putting asbestos in linoleum before 1980 due to public concerns about its toxicity. However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) didn’t ban asbestos-containing products until 1989, and a comprehensive ban was not announced until 2024. This means that homes built after 1989 may still have asbestos in their flooring.

When asbestos fibers become airborne, they enter a person's respiratory system. These fibers scar and damage the lungs and often lead to serious cancers like mesothelioma. Like many dangers in the house, asbestos isn’t easy to see when it could be causing serious damage. The amount of time exposed, combined with the person’s tolerance for asbestos inhalation and the amount inhaled, will all contribute to health problems.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
