Although I had successfully used another established window tinter previously, I wanted to use a local company.  Brandon Fouts came to my residence representing Park Place Window Tinting, and made an offer to do the work.  When I asked if I should clean the windows first, he said he was good at what he did and that he would clean the windows so that there was nothing under the film but glass.  Materials were paid for in advance by us, and installation day came after some waiting.  During the installation, I saw that his cutting of the film around the frame of the panes was sloppy.  When I mentioned it, he corrected it.  I was absorbed in his erratic cutting and assumed that he had cleaned the windows first as I saw him using a spray.  I had to ask him to return as the edges of the film were lifting and needed pressing down.
When he returned to press down the edges, I said that there were bubbles under the film in at least half the windows.  These bubbles were very obvious when the light was not directly on the panes.  A photo of this is attached.  Another window had dirt particles under the film.  A photo of this is attached as well.
During the time when he returned, I had a professional cleaner also in the house.  She said that the windows were spotted with paint from some kind of spray.  She then used a common cleaner to remove the spots and the windows were then perfectly clean.  When I showed Mr Fouts these defects, he said "There is no such thing as perfect glass.  Llumar states that there will be dust in the room and if you cannot see the dust bubbles from 10 feet away, there is no need to fix them."  I told him that I did not want perfect glass, only clean glass and that was normal and expected by every window tint installer.  It is not an unreasonable request to have clean glass before installing expensive window tint film.  Further, when we stood ten feet away one could clearly see the paint bubbles.  I also told him that it is the installer's responsibility to state if the conditions of installation are unfavorable so they can be corrected, and he agreed with that, although he stated nothing during installation.
He admitted at that time that something was wrong and that he would come back and fix it.  He emailed me that he would replace the defective installation and he made a date and time to do so.  Although this was confirmed and definite, the day before he was to come to do what he said he would do, namely repair his installation, he said that Llumar said he should not do it.  He would not come and he would do no repairs.  He also said he would send a pdf file of the warranty on the film.  He never sent that pdf file and I have not warranty information.
I tried to reason with him, but this would not work as he refused to do the repairs he said he would do.  I asked him if he worked for Llumar and if they stood by his installation ability.  No reply.  After all, why would Llumar want their expensive tint installed over dirty glass?  I later found that his company is not registered in the State of Florida.  I also found that the so-called parent company, Park Place Car Wash, owned by his father, Doug Fouts, who took our initial payment for the materials and stated at that time he was the boss, is also not registered in the State of Florida or at least one cannot find it in the public registry under these business names or their personal names.  I therefore have no idea which legal entity I am dealing with.
After being stonewalled by them and my attempts to get satisfaction peacefully were rejected, I said that unless they spoke with me there would be no choice but for me to pursue legal action.  They replied that I should go ahead and make a court case because there was no use in discussions; they would do nothing more and I should stop speaking.  Since this is the first time I have experienced such an attitude in Gainesville, I was shocked.  When I wanted to understand who I would have to make a case against, I found that these people seem to be slippery and not registered, licensed or bonded, neither do they have a legal presence.  I am unsure about them now.
As I take Angie's List very seriously and write my reviews with care, it took me some time to write this.  I feel that other people should beware of these entities that seem to work as legitimate businesses but might not be.  I should have checked the reviews of this tinting service that appear on yelp and google.  I usually only use Angies list.
I am extremely disappointed with their dealings, very disappointed with the extremely sloppy and shoddy work, and warn others to avoid this company.  I do not say this lightly.  Usually when I have an unpleasant experience with a company, we work it out somehow or other peacefully.  I would not write badly about them here as I feel that I might have had an experience that was uncommon and after all, everyone makes mistakes.  I like to give the benefit of the doubt, but in this case, I cannot.  They do not do what they say, they do not do a good job, they do not fix their mistakes, and they create stress and anxiety by being so unprofessional.  Llumar should think twice before allowing them to install their materials.

Have been here for a carwash several times over the years. They do excellent work in record time. I've only been disappointed a couple of times and said something. They make it good as soon as you tell them.
