"You cannot go wrong using Koala for any insulation needs. I requested quotes from several local insulation contractors to apply closed cell foam in a metal container to mitigate moisture issues. Koala provided a great quote and a complete explanation of their process and materials. I selected them and two days later they had their crew at my location at the provided time. The crew did an excellent job and provided complete cleanup before departing. Class A operation..."

"I would highly recommend Brian and Jayden for your insulation needs. They were prompt, very professional, and very hard working young men. Reasonably priced for the job I needed and were able to finish much quicker than I expected. I will definitely hire them again for future needs. Thanks again so much."

"Me and my wife had an excellent experience with this company from start to finish. The consultation was incredibly helpful, everything was explained clearly and thoroughly, and all of my questions were answered in a way that made the whole process easy to understand. The installation crew was just as impressive. They were friendly, professional, and worked very efficiently while still paying close attention to detail. They also made sure everything was clean and tidy before leaving, which I really appreciated. The entire process was smooth, well organized, and professional. It?s clear this company takes pride in their work and in treating customers well. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for insulation services! Thanks alot!"

"Waylon worked with our tenant's schedule and came out as soon as she was available. The heat hadn't been working on one of the coldest weeks of the season. He assessed the problem and found a faulty auxiliary heat pack. He replaced it immediately. Waylon and Scott were and have always been very professional, courteous and punctual. We will never use another HVAC company. H&W Heating and Air is the best in town."

"MARC JONES CONSTRUCTION TEAM  ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE AND INSTALLED THE SOLAR ARRAY OVER TWO DAYS.  ON MONDAY, WE HAD INSPECTION AND A FEW DAYS LATER THE ATTIC WAS INSULATED WITH FOAM TO REDUCE HEAT LOAD ON AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.  EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY EXCEPT FOR INADVERTANTLY UNPLUGGING THE SYSTEM CIRCUITBREAKER DURING THE FOAMING OPERATIO.

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

If you want to reduce sound transmission throughout your home, soundproofing drywall is a better choice than standard drywall. However, simply installing soundproofing drywall may not completely block out noise. You’ll get the best results from incorporating it into a larger soundproofing plan that includes proper insulation and framing studs.

Certain drywall textures, like sand and sometimes popcorn, can be smoothed by applying skim coats, sanding the walls, or chipping away the texture. However, it’s worth considering removing the texture and starting with a blank canvas. Smoothing textured walls requires a lot of sandpaper and elbow grease and can take longer than just outright removing the texture.

Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.

While it’s most common to sand plaster dry, it is possible to wet-sand plaster, too. Doing so can reduce the amount of plaster dust released into the air and make it easier to work in smaller, more delicate areas (such as around wall trim). However, some people find that wet sanding leads to more imperfections, which is why larger walls are more often dry sanded to ensure an even finish.

The cost to texture drywall depends on whether you want to do the work yourself or hire a professional. The cost of the drywall mud is far lower than labor costs for applying it. The labor cost to spray drywall compound onto a wall is between $0.80 and $1.50 per square foot, while you’ll pay between $1.50 and $2 per square foot for the labor to apply the texture by hand.
