"I originally hired Lance do paint the whole inside of my 2300 sqft home. He completed this task on time. He was quick and efficient and he also patched drywall issues along the way. I then hired him again to paint outside shutters, porch and fix some drywall in our garage as well as fix a patch in our guest bedroom carpet. Anything I asked if he could do he did it for me. He was a great help. His prices couldn't be beat either."

"We are remodeling our house, and we needed almost 1800 square feet drywalled.  A lot of companies wouldn't even take on the job.  We called several companies, and he was the first to show up for an estimate.  He kept in great contact with us and gave us an excellent price.  He kept in contact throughout the project and gave us very accurate time frames.  The completed job is excellent!  I highly recommend this company."

"We vetted several roofing companies for a replacement roof install as we have a large and rather complicated roof. We chose B&W based on price, professionalism, attention to detail and responsiveness to questions. We were very pleased on all levels. The workmanship was incredible and we love our new roof! Highly recommend."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. Otherwise, confirm that you are using anchors appropriate to the weight of the mirrors. Another technique is to use French cleats—two pieces of wood that fit together, with one piece attached to the wall and the other to the mirror. This allows the weight to be distributed over a wider area.

It’s always better to follow proven drywall repair tips and fix the seams that look bad. However, if you simply want to make them less noticeable until you have time to fix them, you can use paint. A darker color of paint makes bad drywall tape seams less noticeable than light-colored paint. Matte paint hides bad seams better than glossy paint does, too.

While not always necessary, you can glue a drywall ceiling in addition to using screws or nails. Drywall is typically secured to ceiling joists with fasteners, which is often sufficient. However, adding construction adhesive can offer benefits like preventing sagging, bridging gaps, and reducing air leaks for better energy efficiency. It may also be used for specific acoustic or insulation needs. On the other hand, many professionals advise against it because properly placed screws make the drywall structural, glue doesn't add strength, and it makes future repairs or replacements significantly more difficult. Ultimately, it's best to follow local building codes and project-specific requirements to decide if adhesive is right for your ceiling.

Drywall can get wet and dry out without sustaining permanent damage, but only if the water damage is minor. If you have a small leak and are quick to correct the issue and set up blower fans and dehumidifiers, your drywall should dry out. If the leak is persistent, the drywall becomes totally waterlogged, or mold begins forming on the drywall, you should remove and replace it.

The cost to texture drywall depends on whether you want to do the work yourself or hire a professional. The cost of the drywall mud is far lower than labor costs for applying it. The labor cost to spray drywall compound onto a wall is between $0.80 and $1.50 per square foot, while you’ll pay between $1.50 and $2 per square foot for the labor to apply the texture by hand.
