"Brad came out and helped us with a repair to our fascia boards on our mother in law suite. He and his team also installed much needed soffits. Brad was extremely professional, friendly, and got the project done with a close attention to detail in a very timely manner. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We would absolutely recommend reaching out to Warner for any installation or repair needs!"

"Julio and his crew did an amazing job on my addition. The contractor finished to drywall. Julio and crew textured walls and ceiling, painted inside and outside, tiled my shower and bathroom floor, installed wood flooring throughout, hung interior doors, and installed cabinets including closet built-ins. Everything perfectly installs and in record time. I highly recommend Cesar Remodeling."

"Raymond and Hannah responded quickly and professionally to my initial request through Home Advisor. It was evident during our first meeting that they are pros with a lot of experience, along with genuine care for their customers. They gave good, detailed estimates and really attended to our specific requests. We had a varied list of work ( drywall reconstruction, damaged floor removal & repair, roof repair, bathroom fixture installation, stucco repair, general painting and caulking.) They were through and were able to correct other problems that had been missed by previous hires. Their communication was fantastic! I live in another state and was overseeing this long work list for my mom who lives in Florida. I met Raymond and Hannah personally at the beginning of the projects and was confident that they would take care of my mom's property and relieve her stress due to some previous poor workmanship by other contractors. They were quick to call, text and e-mail details and send pictures of their work to help me know the details of all of the projects when I had to travel back to my out of state home. They were patient and respectful of my elderly mom and her needs. We added extra work requests to the list after we observed the excellent workmanship. My mom has another list that she is developing for them in the near future because of the excellent working relationship that they built. They demonstrated honesty, quality workmanship and great communication. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend Raymond and Hannah and Faith Works Home Renovations! Small jobs welcome

"I hired Daytona Renovations to do my cabinets in my kitchen. I was skeptical of the process when hiring a company to do this. They quoted me on a fair price and I was very pleased with the process and service they provided. Definitely will be using them in the future!!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

A cement backer board is not needed for laying tile on concrete. Sometimes referred to as a cementitious backer unit, or CBU, backer board should be used if the subfloor is plywood or OSB. The backer board provides a base on which to install the tiles that isn’t as likely to be damaged by any accidental water seepage as natural materials would be.

Yes. You can tile over tile if the old tile is in good shape, but this will also create a thicker floor. As a result, you may have to remove and readjust baseboards and other room trimmings and potentially even raise door heights to work with the higher floors. In most projects, it’s best to remove the old tile before installing a new tile floor.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.

DIY is possible for small projects. Professional services ensure precision and long-lasting results.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.
