"Raymond and Hannah responded quickly and professionally to my initial request through Home Advisor. It was evident during our first meeting that they are pros with a lot of experience, along with genuine care for their customers. They gave good, detailed estimates and really attended to our specific requests. We had a varied list of work ( drywall reconstruction, damaged floor removal & repair, roof repair, bathroom fixture installation, stucco repair, general painting and caulking.) They were through and were able to correct other problems that had been missed by previous hires. Their communication was fantastic! I live in another state and was overseeing this long work list for my mom who lives in Florida. I met Raymond and Hannah personally at the beginning of the projects and was confident that they would take care of my mom's property and relieve her stress due to some previous poor workmanship by other contractors. They were quick to call, text and e-mail details and send pictures of their work to help me know the details of all of the projects when I had to travel back to my out of state home. They were patient and respectful of my elderly mom and her needs. We added extra work requests to the list after we observed the excellent workmanship. My mom has another list that she is developing for them in the near future because of the excellent working relationship that they built. They demonstrated honesty, quality workmanship and great communication. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend Raymond and Hannah and Faith Works Home Renovations! Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.

Glass tile can cost as much as or more than other durable tile types. When choosing the right tile for you, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each can help you make an informed decision. The pros and cons of glass tile include:

Pros

  • Light-reflecting to add brightness

  • Waterproof and mold-resistant

  • Made from recyclable materials

Cons

  • High cost compared to similar and more durable materials

  • Usually requires professional installation

  • More easily scratched compared to materials like ceramic and porcelain

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

Costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot for installation and $150 to $600 for repairs, depending on the material and complexity.
