"Joe and Mike arrived on time, swept the chimney and confirmed to us that the flu damper and poorly fitting chimney cap needed to be replaced since water it allowed to come down into the fireplace. damaged the flu damper. They also showed how the back panel had cracked and was unsafe. We followed their recommendation to replace the back panel, flu damper and chimney cap. We could not be more pleased with their work. We no longer get cold air coming into the great room when the flu damper is closed. A great improvement. Also everything was completed on their return visit. and, just like the first visit, the room was left spotless. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them for similar chimney work."

"The work was professional and the results were awesome. Mike and crew corrected and rebuilt pavers that were on a portion of a sloped driveway. They were on time and finished the same day. They did a great job cleaning after the project was completed. A Plus."

"Creative Scape did a tremendous job. The gentleman who installed my brick pavers for a platform in the front and back of my deck did an excellent job. They also installed a drainage system from my front downspout to the back. They were very professional and very courteous. They also laid sod and transformed my yard into a beautiful area. I want to thank Ken from Creative Scape and the guy who did the work. A big thank you, and I will use them again."

"It can be tough when your trying to find a company to do projects for your home, but we honestly wanted to ensure that we left a review for this company after they installed a paver walkway and created a brick base around our wooden columns. They did an amazing job. Jake and his team are the real deal. He takes the time to listen to your ideas/wants/needs and gives advice on what would work best and give honest feedback on the costs. He does an overall great job. We re happy we went with them, give them a call and see how they can help."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Ensure you have a safe environment for them to work on, and there aren’t items such as logs, build-up of yard materials, missing or damaged shingles, and weak areas on the roof. Communicate any known electrical issues with contractors at the beginning of the project, and consider hiring an electrician to fix those. Finally, if you are attempting the project yourself, do so when there isn’t any rain, and you can safely get your footing on the roof using proper equipment, such as an extension ladder. Don’t attempt this alone, and have a helper nearby to assist.

Yes, dead palm tree fronds are a fire hazard. The leaves become highly combustible because the dead fronds don’t fall off the tree themselves, especially in hot, sunny climates. In fact, many wildfires start from dead palm fronds. Palm trees can also easily catch fire from lighting, electrical power lines, and fireworks. So, cutting off dead palm fronds before they become a fire hazard is important.

No, but they both serve distinct life-saving purposes. Smoke detectors primarily sense the presence of smoke, typically caused by a fire, and emit loud alarms to alert occupants to evacuate. In contrast, carbon monoxide detectors monitor the levels of carbon monoxide gas, an odorless and colorless but deadly substance produced by incomplete combustion of fuels. When CO levels become dangerous, CO detectors sound alarms to warn inhabitants of potential poisoning risks.

A chimney requires both a cover and a cap, but these parts often get confused with one another. A chimney cover seals the top of the chimney around the flue pipe to prevent water from entering the chimney. A chimney cap is a piece that sits above the flue to prevent animals, debris, and water from entering the flue.

Some Christmas lights are marked as being “UL Safety Certified” or Underwriters Laboratories Safety Certified. This lab is a trusted source for determining the safety standards of electrical products—you should make sure your Christmas lights have this label.
