"This was a relatively painless process. Our initial meet was great. We originally thought we wanted spray foam insulation, but after meeting and talking with Alex, we chose to upgrade the insulation we already had as he felt that the spray foam was not appropriate for our home. The gentlemen that came to our home were on time, and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing new or upgraded insulation ."

"The company was highly professional in all aspects of my dealings with them, from communications with the office staff to Gene Jr. and Gene Sr. when they arrived to do the work I needed done. Gene Jr. arrived the week before to access what my insulation needs were. The original insulation was for less than what I needed due to years of settling and compacting in areas and other areas that were deficient or missing altogether. Repairs to my roof and ceiling from damage sustained from Hurricane Michael were performed but there was some shoddy work done which resulted in insufficient, and in some areas missing insulation altogether. I have full confidence now since the new blown-in fiberglass insulation has been added, that I will have greater ability to maintain more comfortable temperatures within my home during extreme temperature variations through the seasons. I would highly recommend the company to anyone looking the add insulation to their home."

"We had several issues over the summer with our AC unit and Waylon was very responsive to our service requests. Diagnosis showed we needed a new system. I had issues on my end nailing down a solid install date, and he was very accommodating to my changing schedule. Install of the new system was fast and professional. They left the worksite immaculate, and removed all old items. Waylon and his team are true professionals and I will recommend to anyone who needs any HVAC work done."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Vapor barriers in attics are a bit outdated and most areas no longer recommend them for attic spaces. For vented attics, the best method is usually to install drywall and cover it with latex paint before attaching insulation fiberglass, cellulose, or foam insulation. When renovating an attic to use as a living space, a contractor can guide you on the best way to cover insulation.

Yes, you should insulate behind shower walls. Insulating helps prevent heat loss, which keeps the shower or tub from getting too cold and helps maintain a comfortable temperature in your bathroom. Additionally, proper insulation and air sealing can help prevent wall rot and moisture buildup. It is recommended to use a high R-value rated foam insulation combined with a vapor barrier.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

Yes. Proper, complete insulation will ensure that you trap the most cool or warm air inside your home, preventing high energy bills. In addition, insulation tends to settle and compress, leaving gaps over time; the more you insulate completely during the initial installation, the less you’ll need to do down the line.

Ductwork sweats due to a temperature difference between the air inside the ducts and the surrounding air, similar to how a cold drink develops condensation in the heat. This sweating is a sign that your HVAC system is not operating at peak efficiency. The best way to keep ductwork from sweating is to wrap it in proper insulation, which also improves your system's energy efficiency. Another option is to close off your crawl space and install a dehumidifier to dry the air and lower its dew point.
