"Daniel is easy to work with. He showed up when he promised and even though my project was much larger than originally envisioned, he completed the job in the original time frame. I'm pleased with his work and will use his service again if needed."

"Sean was an absolute pro and helped us out with our sprinkler system after our home was struck by lightning. We was able to diagnose the problem quickly and get the appropriate parts. Very happy with his help and the final product. Highly recommend."

"Water Works gave me an estimate on Monday and by the following Monday they had a small army at my home and completed the job in about 4-5 hours! Everything works as planned and the grass is already greener. Their price was fair ($1700 for 3 zones, 18 heads and pump installation; I had already purchased the well and pump). Good company to work with! Thanks!"

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Most mushrooms found on residential lawns are harmless. Certain varieties such as destroying angel, fly agaric, and vomiter mushrooms that can grow in grass will occasionally make their way onto residential lawn, but this is uncommon. Since mushrooms can be notoriously difficult to identify, if you suspect that your lawn mushrooms could be a poisonous type, consulting a professional is recommended.

No, it’s not necessary to remove all the leaves from your lawn—in fact, leaving some behind can be beneficial. While it's important to clear thick layers of leaves that can smother your grass, leaving a light scattering of leaves can help feed your soil while also providing safe winter habitat for pollinators like bumble bees. Leftover leaves will eventually break down, enriching the soil and promoting healthy lawn growth.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Yes, most services include basic site cleanup and proper disposal of debris, which may include hazardous materials. It is always best to confirm the specifics with your provider.

To prepare your lawn for core aeration, water it the day before you aerate. (Alternatively, you can wait until it rains and aerate the following day.) Aerating after watering or a rainy day will make the process easier since you can penetrate moist soil better than dry soil. You should also flag your sprinklers so that you don’t accidentally hit them while aerating. If you have a lot of thatch buildup in your yard, you might need to dethatch your lawn before aerating as well.
