"Great experience and work done by Mark and his partner! They replaced linoleum and carpet in our 34 ft 5th wheel. The flooring we selected looks beautiful with our existing wood color in our RV. We will definitely call on them again for a future project.....thanks guys!"

"Richard did a wonderful job installing our carpeting! He was very careful with our walls and furniture and gave us an incredible price. I'm going to use him again for another project and highly recommend his services. If I could give him 11 stars out of 10, I would!"

"Everything went exactly as advertised - he was in, explained what he would do, and finished on schedule. My only complaint was that he said the carpet would be dry in about two hours. As it turned out, took almost six hours to be dry enough to walk on.

"I am a general contractor up north visiting family and I am beyond satisfied with DSV. I was under a tight time constraint for getting this floor done. Rick was able to get the flooring material expedited and personally delivered within 2 days! The installer was professional and his experience really shined through his attention to detail between leveling the floor, installing the base + shoe and covering steps./transfers. Our new floor looks amazing and my family is thrilled with the look and feel. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for flooring and will be using them again in the future."

"Jhonn was the contractor. I received 4 estimates. I supplied all materials as requested by each supplier but one. Jhonn's history on Angie's list was for South Carolina and his reviews were good. He relocated to Orlando, so I gave him a try and was glad I did. He had 2 workers tear out old ceramic tile that was damaged and replaced with LVP, as well as replacing carpeting in the office and replacing carpeting in 2 bedrooms and a laundry room with LVP. It came out beautifully and took about a day and a half. I moved out all the furniture myself, but his crew did the kitchen appliances and laundry room."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

If you want to save money on carpet repairs, there are a few ways to save without sacrificing quality. Some options you have include:

  • Cleaning set-in stains by renting a steam cleaner or using DIY carpet cleaning methods

  • Prepare the area for repairing yourself, such as moving furniture, to avoid unnecessary fees.

  • Protect high-traffic areas with a runner rug to avoid excessive wear and tear.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

Generally speaking, restretch your carpets once every five years, though this timeframe depends on a number of factors, such as the level of foot traffic in the area. If the carpet looks wrinkled and there are loosened areas on the floor, go for the restretch. If everything looks and feels fine, you are good.
