"We were looking to add on to our patio and get a slab poured for a shed. Inquired through an email to Concrete Works Bob Davidson(owner) responded the next day. I was not able to follow up with him for a couple of days, ended  up reaching him late Thursday evening, we talked about what we were wanting and he scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning. Bob and his associate David were right on time, looked at what we wanted to do offered some suggestions (which we followed) gave us the quote. We decided to go ahead with the job. Bob said he would check his schedule and let me know as soon as he was available. Bob called Tuesday of the following week saying they could come Wednesday. They were right on time and did a Excellent job!!! I cannot say enough good things they were very professional and very courteous. Even moved a small tree for us that we forgot to move. Would not hesitate to recommend Bob and team. The patio lookS great the picture framing around the edge really topped it off.. We look forward to enjoying our new patio for years to come.. Thnaks again to Bob,David and crew great job!!.,.

Customers say: True professional

"This contractor was able to pour the concrete slabs for me as well as build a 30 x 26’ garage. Everything was to our standards and took time, but it came out great matching her house. The entire crew and management was very respectful and kind. I plan on using them again in the future for my future projects, pouring concrete and gazebo patio build."

Patios questions, answered by experts

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

Building a sunroom is usually less expensive than the cost of building a home addition, but it depends on the type of sunroom. A four-season sunroom will cost more than a home addition because it’s basically a home addition with larger, more expensive windows. All other types of sunrooms will be more affordable than a home addition of an equivalent size because they don’t have insulation, heating, cooling, electrical connections, or plumbing.

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

Building a sunroom can take anywhere from two weeks to six months. An average-sized sunroom typically takes between two and eight weeks to complete, but more elaborate or larger projects can take longer. The final timeline depends on factors such as the sunroom's size, features, structural requirements, type, and whether it's a retrofit or a new build from scratch.
