"Great communication from start to finish. Painting is all about prep work. They took the time to prepare my exterior before sealing it with a beautiful paint job. They are professional, knowledgeable and fair from start to finish. Great family owned company."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding experience from start to finish I cannot say enough good things about Footprints Floors and Thomas Dipaolo. From the very beginning, the experience was smooth, honest, and professional. The quote was spot-on and well under what I expected, with no surprises or hidden costs. Thomas took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable with every decision before the work began. The quality of the work is absolutely amazing. They redid my entire house, and the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall finish exceeded my expectations. The project was handled efficiently, the crew was respectful of my home, and the results speak for themselves. If you’re looking for a flooring company that delivers excellent value, top-tier workmanship, and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend Footprints Floors and Thomas Dipaolo. I would not hesitate to use them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Christian did a fantastic job! His work and attention to detail is outstanding and unmatched! It took him a good full 3 days of 8:30 am - 5 pm each day to complete our tile floor project. Christian worked very hard those full 3 days. He is my new tile guy. I would very highly recommend him without hesitation to anyone."

"These men were very professional, trustworthy, and hardworking. The estimate they gave, was the price I paid, which was my lowest estimate I received from 4 other companies through Angie’s List. This job included ripping up carpet and jackhammering floor tiles, reflooring the entire first floor and stairs! I am very well pleased with their work and would definitely have them back again! I would highly recommend these men for any type of flooring needs! These men cleaned up completely every day, and took all the trash with them! I loved that!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The cost depends on the type of natural stone. High-end stones can cost as much as porcelain, but it depends on the specific material. For example, the cost of flagstone pavers is typically $2 to $6 per square foot, which is much more budget-friendly than porcelain. Outdoor slate tile can cost as much as $35 per square foot, which is about the same as porcelain.

Installations typically take 1-3 days, depending on area size; repairs are usually completed sooner if the issue is localized.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.

The process takes two to four days, depending on the size of the area and your experience level. The first day involves assessing and prepping the existing tile, while the second day is for laying the new tile. This may take longer in complex areas. After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours, grouting and sealing can be completed on day three. For larger projects or intricate tile patterns, expect the timeline to stretch a bit longer. Also, proper drying time between steps is essential for long-lasting results, which extends the project’s time.

No, you don’t need to remove the old grout before installing new tile over existing tile. In fact, the old grout helps fill in gaps between tiles, creating a more even surface for the new layer. However, it's important to ensure that the grout is clean, solid, and free of cracks or crumbling areas. Damaged grout should be repaired or replaced before proceeding. Cleaning the surface thoroughly and filling any low spots will help the new adhesive bond properly and ensure a smooth, stable installation.
