"I have used star crew on multiple projects over the past 5 years because of their exceptional quality of work. They have installed floor drains and poured concrete In my horse barn, poured sidewalks around my chicken coop, as well as poured a super flat and smooth flood in my shop for me all of which surpassed my expectations. My projects are a testament to the commercial quality they bring to every job even those in the residential/agricultural setting."

"The house was recently purchased. It's over 150 years old and had been neglected for quite a long time. The building inspector listed pointing as the most urgent exterior repair. The house is not large but the amount of repair and pointing was extensive. Quinn Brothers was selected for the work from a short list of competitors whose cost estimates were similar. Quinn Brothers was selected because Patrick Quinn spent the most time familiarizing himself with the project and making suggestions about options. The quality of work Quinn Brothers did is top-notch. The crew worked steadily and the job was completed in the timeframe promised. Communications were excellent throughout the project, with prompt notices from Patrick about how the job was progressing and prompt responses to my texts. More masonry work is needed at the house and Quinn Brothers will be doing that work, too."

"Excellent. A crew of 3 worked from 7AM to 6:30PM. Removed the old concrete, did all work as explained in the estimate and cleaned up the work area before leaving, all in the same day. We were very happy with the workmanship and would definitely recommend them to our friends."

"The job went very well and we love how are bathroom has been transformed. Bob made multiple visits to consult on the tile choices and ensure they were prepared for the project. Phil (tile guy) was a true craftsman and took his time to ensure the work was perfect. We wish the same care was taken by all contractors.

"I recently bought a home with a pool in the back but unfortunately came with a rather pathetic looking old, small concrete patio that was cracking down the middle and showing very real signs of age.  It needed an update desperately.  I got a handful of quotes.  Gary came out and gave me the most educated and detailed vision out of anyone else.  He immediately brought to light issues of drainage, functionality, and code standards.  He seemed to know instantly what was going to be needed to bring this project to fruition.  He also does his own lighting gave me a very good price on the entire package.  He came out the day promised 8 AM sharp with his crew.  He started the demo raising a sledge hammer alongside with his workers.  Every day he was there, not only managing but also engaging in heavy labor in 90+ degree heat.  I was pretty impressed with his hard work.  Given that he was onsite every day, he was also available for any questions or issues I had with how the project was going.  What can I say - my patio turned out to be more beautiful than I had imagined. It has completely transformed my backyard experience, enlarging the porch area and making it so much more comfortable. I love spending time on my back patio now, thanks to Gary!  I highly recommend him!!

"Our driveway had several large deep cracks: at the garage apron, where it met the street, one across the middle, and many smaller crack throughout. We were given an estimate to patch (cut back the asphalt at the large cracks and patch), OR to patch and resurface the entire driveway. We opted for the patch/resurface and it looks fantastic (it’s like a brand new driveway)! We also decided (last minute) to add on the sealcoat right after the paving, which Frank was happy to do. Frank was great and on-site during all of the work. All phone calls/texts were answered immediately. The estimate was accurate. One thing to note is that the weather will dictate the scheduling (which Frank told us at the estimate). We got weeks of rain after our estimate so it took almost 2 months to get scheduled, but it was certainly worth the wait. Would recommend and hire again."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Regularly inspecting your foundation—at least the visible sections—for signs of foundation issues like moisture and pest infestation is a good way to identify slab leaks early, as is keeping an eye and ear out for water damage to indoor building materials, above-average water bills, sounds of running water when no fixtures or appliances are on, and indoor humidity that causes the temperatures to feel more extreme. If you do find any issues, contact a plumber right away to check it out for you.

By reinforcing with fibers, sealing surfaces, and ensuring correct drainage.

You have different options depending on the scale of repair needed. If you are repairing minor cracks that are between ¼ inch to 1.5 inch wide and less than half an inch deep, a self-leveling polyurethane sealant would be your best choice. Polyurethane sealants dry to the touch within one to two hours. Since they come in a tube applier, you also have the option to complete the repair without emptying out your garage.

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.
