"Alex Evans Ashphalt Paving , paved my driveway yesterday. Jack Smith thank you, you are professional, knowledgable and prompt... Ivan,(the Foreman) , thank you, you are knowledgable, professional, and work so well with your amazing team. I am happy with the entire experience, from the very reasonable quote, all questions answered, the driveway prep, the paving, the clean up, etc... The team is a well oiled machine ... My only concern was the rain ...but my questions were answered and my concerns relieved...."
An Asphalt Overlay(Repaving a 2.5 inch layer over existing driveway) is a very efficient and durable solution when done the proper way.
First off we start the preparations by removing the asphalt sections near garage and sidewalks to have a flush finish on completion.
We also remove the grass and dirt in the desired extension area. Once that is done the crushed stone is added.
After the entire driveway is Edged and Clean, we are almost ready to Pave!
Last but not least a pre-fill layer of asphalt is poured on any low or damaged areas to prevent any problems in the future.

"I highly recommend Pellicore Concrete! My wife and I hired Pellicore to remove our 10' wide asphalt driveway and replace it with a widened 18' concrete driveway. The project also entailed demolition of our existing concrete porch, replacing it, adding a new front patio, and tying the porch and patio work into the new driveway. Joe Pellicore met with us and gave us estimates for the entire project, along with breaking down the project into its component parts with estimates for each. We went with the entire project. Joe worked with us on dates for the project, which ended up taking 4 days. Joe and his staff arrived on time every day and kept us informed through each step, making sure we were involved in final decisions. Once the project was poured the crew did an amazing job cleaning up and backfilling gaps between the lawn and the new porch and driveway. They did fantastic work! We love our new porch, patio, and driveway!"

"New Crete did a beautiful job resurfacing our driveway. The builder (Capstone) did a terrible job on the concrete when we had our home built. New Crete ground it down, and worked their magic and it now looks like a new driveway. Great company to work with too. Stayed in touch during the winter months when it was too cold to do the work. "I am so happy with my freshly regrouted pavers. It’s better than it was when they were installed. The biggest joy is not having the rains spout against the wall going to the driveway. Derrick did a wonderful job. I just wish I knew about him sooner so he could have done the job originally. He and Sylvia are so personable."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Completing asphalt paving in Newark provides a smoother, safer surface that reduces tripping hazards and keeps mud and dirt out of your home during rainy seasons. A well-maintained driveway improves curb appeal and can make snow removal easier in winter. It also enhances access for strollers, bikes, and deliveries, making daily routines more convenient for your household and visitors.

Helpful?

An asphalt paving project can impact several systems in your Newark home. Heavy equipment may affect shallow gas lines or septic systems, while excavation can damage tree roots or irrigation lines. Most importantly, new paving changes water flow. Given Newark's clay-heavy soil, improper grading can redirect water toward your foundation, so ensuring proper drainage away from the structure is essential for protecting your home.

Helpful?

It's time to schedule an asphalt paving project for your home in Newark when you see extensive cracking, which worsens during Delaware's freeze-thaw cycles. Other urgent signs include potholes, standing water after rain, or crumbling edges. If your driveway is over 15 years old or appears gray and brittle, addressing it prevents further deterioration and protects your property’s foundation and value.

Helpful?

Yes, completing an asphalt paving project significantly increases your home's value and resale appeal in Newark, DE. A well-maintained driveway can yield a high return on investment and help your home sell faster. For buyers, it signals a move-in-ready property and eliminates a major immediate expense. This is especially important for staying competitive in Newark's market, particularly for homes near the university.

Helpful?

Before requesting asphalt paving services in Newark, DE, you should document your driveway's exact dimensions and property lines. Photograph existing damage like cracks and potholes, and note drainage issues, which are common with Newark's clay soil. It is also critical to contact Delaware One Call (811) to mark underground utility lines and to check for any specific HOA or municipal requirements before getting quotes.
