"I highly recommend Pellicore Concrete! My wife and I hired Pellicore to remove our 10' wide asphalt driveway and replace it with a widened 18' concrete driveway. The project also entailed demolition of our existing concrete porch, replacing it, adding a new front patio, and tying the porch and patio work into the new driveway. Joe Pellicore met with us and gave us estimates for the entire project, along with breaking down the project into its component parts with estimates for each. We went with the entire project. Joe worked with us on dates for the project, which ended up taking 4 days. Joe and his staff arrived on time every day and kept us informed through each step, making sure we were involved in final decisions. Once the project was poured the crew did an amazing job cleaning up and backfilling gaps between the lawn and the new porch and driveway. They did fantastic work! We love our new porch, patio, and driveway!"

"Tom C. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service from Evans Paving, LLC I couldn’t be more impressed with the outstanding work Evans Paving did on our challenging driveway. They professionally paved over 1,500 feet of driveway, including two large parking pads, pitched driveway for water runoff and completely transformed our property. Their team didn’t just pave — they went the extra mile by removing and cutting away invasive tree roots that had destroyed the old driveway. The attention to detail was clear from start to finish, and they sealed the entire project beautifully, leaving us with a clean, smooth driveway. Every step of the project was handled with professionalism, quality and attention to detail at a very reasonable price. If you’re looking for quality work, a reliable crew, and a reasonable price, Evans Paving is the team to call. We already recommended them to our family and friends."

"I was thrilled with the entire service. I love dealing with small business, I called and shortly after the owner called me back and came and quoted the driveway the same day. Area of the driveway where water was a problem was removed , stone installed in area and entire driveway resurfaced. With all the equipment they had they made it look easy. Looks great!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

It's time to schedule an asphalt paving project for your home in Newark when you see extensive cracking, which worsens during Delaware's freeze-thaw cycles. Other urgent signs include potholes, standing water after rain, or crumbling edges. If your driveway is over 15 years old or appears gray and brittle, addressing it prevents further deterioration and protects your property’s foundation and value.

Helpful?

An asphalt paving project can impact several systems in your Newark home. Heavy equipment may affect shallow gas lines or septic systems, while excavation can damage tree roots or irrigation lines. Most importantly, new paving changes water flow. Given Newark's clay-heavy soil, improper grading can redirect water toward your foundation, so ensuring proper drainage away from the structure is essential for protecting your home.

Helpful?

In Newark, schedule asphalt paving right away if you see deep cracks, potholes, or pooling water after rain, as these can worsen quickly and impact drainage. Surface fading or minor wear can be monitored and addressed later. For best results, plan paving between late spring and early fall when Newark’s temperatures are consistently above 50°F for proper curing and durability.

Helpful?

Before starting asphalt paving in Newark, review your property layout to see if the project could impact drainage patterns, sprinkler lines, or underground utilities. Ensure the new surface slopes away from your home’s foundation to prevent water intrusion. If you have nearby trees, consider root growth that could affect the pavement. Consulting a local pro helps identify and address these potential issues.

Helpful?

In Newark, using de-icing salts excessively, scraping snow with metal tools, or parking heavy trucks on residential driveways can cause early asphalt damage. Letting leaves or debris accumulate traps moisture and encourages cracks. Delaying sealcoating or ignoring small cracks allows water to penetrate, leading to bigger issues. Gentle cleaning and regular inspections help extend the life of your asphalt surface.
