"Very quick response from Alex with onsite estimate for demo/replacement of driveway. Crew showed up the next day @ 0800 hrs & worked in concert to provide me with a beautiful driveway. Kudos for fast, efficient, quality work."
An Asphalt Overlay(Repaving a 2.5 inch layer over existing driveway) is a very efficient and durable solution when done the proper way.
First off we start the preparations by removing the asphalt sections near garage and sidewalks to have a flush finish on completion.
We also remove the grass and dirt in the desired extension area. Once that is done the crushed stone is added.
After the entire driveway is Edged and Clean, we are almost ready to Pave!
Last but not least a pre-fill layer of asphalt is poured on any low or damaged areas to prevent any problems in the future.

"Tom C. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service from Evans Paving, LLC I couldn’t be more impressed with the outstanding work Evans Paving did on our challenging driveway. They professionally paved over 1,500 feet of driveway, including two large parking pads, pitched driveway for water runoff and completely transformed our property. Their team didn’t just pave — they went the extra mile by removing and cutting away invasive tree roots that had destroyed the old driveway. The attention to detail was clear from start to finish, and they sealed the entire project beautifully, leaving us with a clean, smooth driveway. Every step of the project was handled with professionalism, quality and attention to detail at a very reasonable price. If you’re looking for quality work, a reliable crew, and a reasonable price, Evans Paving is the team to call. We already recommended them to our family and friends."

"Nick did a wonderful job redoing our entire older existing driveway. It was a challenging driveway to replace due to the limited boundaries on both sides of the driveway on an interior lot, some of which abutted custom brick walkways! The job took three days and was done with a lot of care due to the proximity of the outside lightings and cable wires! We are delighted and Nick was easy to connect with via phone during the process! Thank you, Nick!"

"Our property has a considerable size asphalt driveway and turnaround (over 6,000 SF total) which was approaching 30 years of age. At the time the builder did a minimal install of 1-2 inches asphalt top with a questionable base. In spite of maintaining and sealing as possible, the drive had substantially deteriorated and a large challenge to restore. Pictures are included with sample areas shown. We searched extensively for a technically competent and trustworthy paving contractor to rebuild and improved the driveway/turnaround, and selected Keystone Paving to do the work. Mike (Keystone’s owner/operator) reviewed the situation and recommended a complete tear-up, base (emphasizing), a separate binder course and finish course. Other contractors offered a wide range of ‘interesting’ and similar solutions, but given our experience with Mike, his remarkable references and very competitive pricing we felt Keystone was the way to go. In summary we would not regret our decision. Due to time of year and weather (cold, rainy in late 2018) Mike was still able to remove the old asphalt, correct all of the bad areas, base with 2A (and 3A) modified stone, then install a substantial asphalt binder layer; the goal of achieving quality similar to a public roadway. In 2019 Keystone completed the work, updating binder as needed, then paving with a significant asphalt finish course; in total with absolutely excellent results, both in regards to durability and aesthetically; pictures included here. Mike also corrected the grade to assure proper drainage and drivability, as well as expanding key areas for better utility. They seamlessly and cleanly blended all of the work into the new flagstone walkways, both garages (separate buildings), drains, retaining wall, etc. They treat your property as if their own. Mike was always on site when any work needed to be done or assessed. He is respectful, always acts in the customers best interest and clearly takes pride in the Keystone team’s work; closely manages the entire situation, with proven impressive results. Plus, he has decades of technical experience and knowledge which was invaluable to tap for our particular project; critical given the current conditions and size of the effort. We would be remiss if we didn’t also mention the quality, care and thoroughness of everyone involved from Keystone, each member working diligently together, under Mike’s direction for efficiency and first-class outcome. We are ecstatic about the new driveway & turnaround, have to-date received countless compliments on it and the improvement to curb appeal. In our view, you simply cannot go wrong with Keystone & Mike; we definitely made the best decision, and will absolutely be utilizing Keystone in the future for any follow up efforts (sealing, etc.). Mike was key to the success of the project."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.

New asphalt typically needs 24 to 72 hours to dry before it can handle light foot traffic and careful driving. Although it may appear solid after a few days, the full curing process, where the asphalt reaches its peak strength, takes much longer—generally from 30 days to a year.

During this extended curing time, the surface remains relatively soft and can be damaged by heavy vehicles, sharp objects, or high temperatures. To protect your investment, it's best to avoid parking heavy machinery on the asphalt until it has fully cured.

The exact time required for drying and curing depends on several factors, including the weather, the specific asphalt mix, and its thickness. For the most accurate advice tailored to your situation, consult with your asphalt contractor.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and timely repair of cracks help maintain its condition.

Driveway aprons typically range between four and seven inches thick, though your town's building codes will likely have specific requirements. Additionally, you may need to add a layer of permeable aggregate in the excavation below your paved apron to ensure proper stormwater drainage.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.
