"When Alex quoted resurfacing our driveway, he was very specific what work would be done and what to expect going forward. Quality of work was exactly like he indicated. Friendly and easy to deal with. Would recommend their company to others."
An Asphalt Overlay(Repaving a 2.5 inch layer over existing driveway) is a very efficient and durable solution when done the proper way.
First off we start the preparations by removing the asphalt sections near garage and sidewalks to have a flush finish on completion.
We also remove the grass and dirt in the desired extension area. Once that is done the crushed stone is added.
After the entire driveway is Edged and Clean, we are almost ready to Pave!
Last but not least a pre-fill layer of asphalt is poured on any low or damaged areas to prevent any problems in the future.

"Driveway sealing job at our home. Was completed in a quick, quality and professional way. Very happy with the outcome and I would recommend and did to my daughter, who also will use Tri State Paving for her driveway. Good and personable workers who took pride in their work. "Tom C. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service from Evans Paving, LLC I couldn’t be more impressed with the outstanding work Evans Paving did on our challenging driveway. They professionally paved over 1,500 feet of driveway, including two large parking pads, pitched driveway for water runoff and completely transformed our property. Their team didn’t just pave — they went the extra mile by removing and cutting away invasive tree roots that had destroyed the old driveway. The attention to detail was clear from start to finish, and they sealed the entire project beautifully, leaving us with a clean, smooth driveway. Every step of the project was handled with professionalism, quality and attention to detail at a very reasonable price. If you’re looking for quality work, a reliable crew, and a reasonable price, Evans Paving is the team to call. We already recommended them to our family and friends."

"Alex, arranged the work to be done quickly and the cement work was done 5 star. I had almost 200 feet of sidewalk, 2 driveway aprons, driveway and gravel driveway. The concrete was done wonderfully. Initially the filled the sides with top soil but did not tamp. I have ankle turning trench along the sides of the sidewalk. They did not fill more stone when the took the forms out. I have gaps all long the edge of the gravel driveway, which they were paid to fill. They used my hose without permission, then did not put it on the hose reel, left it in the mud. They used my neighbors hose and water without permission. At the end of my driveway at my gate entrance they put topsoil. I had flagstones down. Instead of picking up the flagstones, they threw topsoil on top of them. Again excellent for their concrete work, but insist the tamp down the dirt where the concrete wood forms are located and inspect every inch of their finish work, which is what I should have done. Just beware of their slo"

"Very professional. Did what they said they would. Sent a large crew of about 8 men, including the owner. The job was done in about 3 1/2 hours from tearing out the old driveway to finish. We are extremely pleased with the quality. They were very easy to work with. We highly recommend them."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Combining asphalt paving with other upgrades in Wilmington can be very efficient. It is ideal to bundle it with drainage improvements like French drains, underground utility work, or hardscape projects like retaining walls. This approach allows you to address grading and excavation once, potentially saving on equipment mobilization and bulk material orders. Always check with your local HOA for any required architectural review before starting.

Helpful?

During an asphalt paving project in Wilmington, your input is crucial at several stages. Before work begins, you will approve the drainage design, select the asphalt thickness, and choose edge treatments like Belgian blocks. You must also sign permit applications. During construction, you will verify excavation depth and approve the final surface smoothness and grade before the project is considered complete.

Helpful?

In Wilmington, unique factors like sloped driveways, tight alleyways, or proximity to historic stone walls can complicate asphalt paving and driveway installation. Homes in older neighborhoods may have unpredictable underground infrastructure, while properties with dense landscaping or limited street access often require specialized equipment. If your lot has irregular shapes or retaining walls, discuss these details with your paving contractor to ensure a tailored approach.

Helpful?

For asphalt paving in Wilmington, a seasonal inspection routine is key. In spring, check for freeze-thaw cracks and ensure proper drainage after rain. During summer, monitor for heat-related softening and assess the need for seal coating. In fall, clear leaves and seal new cracks before winter. Finally, watch for salt damage and ice dams during the coldest months to prepare for spring repairs.

Helpful?

In Wilmington, professionals first verify all necessary permits and ensure utility lines are clearly marked. Next, they assess the subgrade and soil conditions, as DE’s coastal climate can affect ground stability. Attention is given to grading for proper runoff, especially in areas prone to pooling. Scheduling is coordinated around local weather patterns, and transitions to sidewalks or public streets are carefully planned for a cohesive finish.
