"I am extremely pleased with the work Carlos did for me. He weeded my flower beds, put fresh mulch down in all beds, trimmed a couple of bushes and spread stone. My yard looks beautiful. He was here on time and completed the work in a timely manner, and Is very reasonably priced. He's very pleasant to work with. I will definitely be using him in the future. I recommend Santos Landscaping highly."

"Excellent! I have used this company for many different projects around my new home. I recently relocated from NJ to DE and Juan and his team have helped with both repairs and also in helping me to personalize my new home. "I'm an engineer by profession and have hired contractors for over 40 years. I hired Castellanos Landscaping for my personal patio and driveway paver project. Pedro (owner) wears his compay on his sleeves from sales to warranty. He truly takes a project from design, estimating, permitting, scheduling, supervision, hands on, punch list, warranty. He is very sincere and forthright because his goal is to meet his customers goal. Typical I don't give reviews but Pedro has my respect as a professional contractor setting his own brand of excellence."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

As with anything you do near your foundation, you’ll want to ensure proper drainage when you plant your foundation beds. Your drainage should run downhill from the highest point against your foundation to avoid water intrusion and incurring expensive foundation repair costs.

Yes, such as sod installation and erosion control for comprehensive site improvement.

Plant a peach tree right at the end of your local dormancy period, likely at the very end of winter after the last frost when you can dig into the soft soil. Plan your backyard gardening season, including when planting peach trees, based on the frost schedule predicted in your local hardiness zone.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.
