"The work done was excellent. The plumber was also extremely personable and professional. The only thing I had a problem with was the high price. I guess I'm not used to paying someone else for jobs I used to be able to do myself."

"All of the people I dealt with at A.D.B. were very professional. The only issue was when I asked for references. The woman I spoke to said she would contact prior clients to make sure I could contact them. A week and a half later I was told that they do not give out clients names. If I was told that originally, I could have had the work started sooner. But the workers were quite knowledgeable. And answered all of the questions that I had. One reason I hired them is because their license is with the DEEP. The other estimates I received, those companies had licenses with the state as plumbers. I just felt that they may have had more knowledge on how to tackle the job. And another bonus is that the contract includes a one year guarantee. Not that expect I will need to call them back but it is good peace of mind. Overall, a great experience."

"I hired one plumber to do the job and just kept getting delays. I hired AA, and they had the job done in a day. AA did a copper repipe of my buildingâ s city water line. Iâ m still amazed with their organization and professionalism. I highly recommend AA for all your external plumbing work. Thank you Aaron and AA."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Thorough plumbing work always concludes with a finalized permit and approved local inspection. A licensed CT professional will provide all necessary warranty and inspection documentation upon completion. You should see proper insulation installed on pipe runs located in unheated spaces. Correctly installed systems feature proper venting for all new fixtures, leaving your Wethersfield home completely free of slow drainage, gurgling sounds, or lingering sewer gas odors.

Helpful?

Start by noting your water meter location and whether your Wethersfield home connects to the municipal sewer or a private septic system. Document any past freeze events in your pipes, as our cold Connecticut winters cause frequent issues. You should also check for visible pipe materials in your basement, like older cast iron or galvanized steel, to help a local professional understand the scope of your plumbing project before arriving.

Helpful?

Proper pipe insulation and routing are essential for long-lasting plumbing in Wethersfield. Professionals must bury exterior lines below the 48-inch frost depth to prevent freezing during cold Connecticut winters. Underground drain lines require proper bedding to resist shifting in our clay-heavy soil. A certified specialist will also account for local water hardness and pH levels, ensuring all solder joints and fixtures withstand the water chemistry over time.

Helpful?

Protect your family by scheduling major plumbing work outside of freezing winter months to prevent dangerous pipe bursts. Ensure everyone in your Wethersfield home knows the exact location of the main water shutoff valve for emergency use. For homes built before 1986, request water testing through a certified lab to check for lead exposure after disturbing older pipes. Always insist on permitted work to guarantee proper venting and backflow prevention.

Helpful?

Older properties in the historic district often feature multiple renovation layers that conceal original pipes. Poured concrete foundations and partial crawl spaces, common in mid-century Wethersfield homes, require intensive labor and core drilling to route new lines. Finished basements hide existing drain stacks, making access difficult during plumbing updates. Properties relying on private septic systems add further complexity, requiring thorough evaluations before modifying fixture counts or drain loads.
