In passing, he mentioned a heat pump option for the shoulder months to reduce oil use, but that was it. "Our forced air heating/cooling system was making a whistling noise whenever the heat or air conditioning came on. East Coast Mechanical came out at the scheduled time and quickly dagnosed the situation, determining that the issue was a faulty motor to the damper for the second floor zone. He did not have the replacement motor in stock and needed to order it and indicated it would take several days. In the meantime he disconnected the motor from the damper which alleviated the annoying whistle we were getting while still leaving the heating and cooling functional. 
In a few days we were informed the damper motor was in and we scheduled an appointment for November 12, 2014. They arrived well within the specified window and replaced the damper motor in minutes.
