Small jobs welcome

"Very slow team took a very long time to move items also not experienced in essembling furniture. It took over an hour to put a crib together that they took apart and few screws were missing. My husband had to finish the job. The sales person Steve that gives you the quote said 2 guys will be enough after going through our inventory. Guys were exhausted. I told him every other moving company recommends 3 guys...but whatever."

"The Action Piano team was responsive immediately after I contacted them. They worked with me to set up times that would work and picked up and delivered within their stated windows. On top of that, these guys did an excellent job moving my fragile and not in the best shape baby grand piano. They even did some additional repair and set up work upon delivery. In some ways, despite the move, the piano was delivered in better condition than it started in. Excellent quality and a reasonable price. I will definitely look to hire them again."

"I had so very much to move. I did not really know how to pack and would not have been able to pack all my stuff as I had agreed, without the moving men's assistance. It was a long snowy day. The movers were professional and delivered my belongings in excellent condition. I did tip the men and really wished I could have given each man twice what I gave. I highly recommend this moving company."

"They arrived 10 minutes early, wrapped and taped everything, loaded the truck and were on their way in less than 90 minutes. The move went well and we were able to load the china cabinets before dinner time. Great move for a very reasonable price."

"Moving is stressful, expensive, and stressful, especially for a longer distance move(150 miles).  Finding a mover to help reduce the level of stress at a fair price was not going to be easy, considering that there are many moving services in our area to choose from (Philadelphia).  After obtaining many quotes, we decided to hire Adelphia movers.  The price was extremely attractive, the terms were reasonable (industry standards), and the reviews were good.  Dave and John showed up on time on moving day.  Dave surveyed the house and then they went straight to working.  They were hustlers, but not the type to get into a hurry just to get the job done.  They worked quickly, but took their time to protect our furniture during the move out of the house and when packed into the truck.  They even managed to move an armoire that was EXTREMELY large, heavy and cumbersome (this piece was so awkward that we thought we might have to leave it behind).  Everything went smoothly- much better than we ever expected.

Dave, John, and Adelphia performed all tasks professionally, quickly, and with the care that you would personally give to your belongings- and at a price that could not be beat.  And, there wasn't any stress!   Dave and John relieved us of that problem.  They're both great guys.  We will recommend Adelphia Moving to anybody we know in the future, without hesitation.  Thank you so much from Donna and John!

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Most professional movers can provide a wide range of moving-related services, and you’ll need to pick and choose which ones you want to use. Examples of common services offered include the following:

  • Organizing and packing your belongings

  • Protecting delicate items with bubble wrap or other protective equipment

  • Moving your belongings and furniture out of your old home

  • Moving your belongings into your new home within a certain distance

  • Unpacking your belongings in the new location

  • Moving heavy items, like pianos

  • Moving your vehicles

  • Storage if your new home isn’t ready

The level of difficulty for this type of move depends on the size of the safe. However, even a small gun safe can weigh several hundred pounds. Since gun safes are large and bulky, they are typically difficult to move and transport unless you have the right equipment and plenty of professional help.

The best way to find a reliable piano mover is to get a recommendation from a family member or friend. If that’s not possible, you can contact local piano movers and ask the following questions to find a reputable company:

  • How will you pack and prepare my piano for the move?

  • Do you offer a guarantee or moving insurance?

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Do I need to do any prep work before you arrive?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

The first step to choosing a relocation company is determining the distance of your move, types of services needed, and how many professional movers you need to hire. Once you set the parameter of your move, get price quotes from at least three local moving companies to compare pricing. Then, choose a relocation company that fits within your budget, supplies the necessary services, and has positive reviews from previous moving customers.

Before hiring a moving company to help you with your move, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Is there anything your company won’t move?

  • Does workers’ compensation cover the crew?

  • Will you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?

  • Are there packing restrictions?

  • Can you guarantee my delivery date?

  • Can you provide references?

  • What do you charge extra for?

  • What is your cancellation policy?
