"Mike and his associate were exceptionally professional and extremely hard-working and dependable. Mike and his team tore down our pre-existing deck and built a new deck that matched our exact specifications. We were very pleased with the finished product. As much as anything, the aspect of the project that was as gratifying as anything is that Mike and his team were extraordinarily dependable. We could set our watch by them. They arrived by 8 AM every morning and worked extremely hard. If Mike said they were going to finish a task by a particular date and time then it was accomplished as such. In the world of construction that is a refreshing change. We are now considering finishing our basement and are eager to have Mike and his team show us their proposal. We recommend Goodman Building Company with the utmost confidence!"

"Can't say enough about them. Punctual, clean, and courteous - and I am very anal about the clean part! Windows look beautiful! On a side note there was a closure of a major highway on route to my house that tied traffic up for miles - they were 15 minutes late and apologized profusely. I was expecting them to be much later due to the closure, so they really did make every attempt to get there on time. Great people and great company and now consider having them install siding and gutters

"The cleaners and builders did a fantastic job renovating the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Everything was done so professionally. I thought this project would be a nightmare, but they were so attentive and responsive. I will definitely be using their services in the future for any work I need to be done around the house."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Some local utilities or state programs offer rebates or tax incentives for energy-efficient upgrades, including solar screens. Make sure to check with your local energy provider or government agency to see if you qualify for any cost-saving programs. Federal tax credits may also be available for qualifying window and exterior home upgrades.

Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.

Among the various entry points into your residence, it's crucial to recognize that your basement windows are arguably the most susceptible. Basements usually have windows facing the side and back yards, often concealed from driveway floodlights, porch lighting, and doorbell cameras. Their vulnerability underscores the importance of reinforcing basement window security to safeguard your home from break-ins.

It’s possible to make minor screen repairs yourself using a waterproof adhesive for small tears or a screen patch kit for larger tears and holes. However, it’s usually a better option to call in a professional window technician. It’s very easy to use too much waterproof glue, resulting in a messy appearance that might demand a full replacement anyway. A screen repair technician will not only be able to carry out clean repairs and patches that aren’t obvious, but they can also let you know if replacing your screen is a more cost-effective option.

Rescreening a door costs an average of $7 to $150. It’s a relatively easy process that only requires 30 minutes to an hour’s work.
