"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"I was in search for movers to help me and my family move to NC. I didn't feel like doing the move myself this time around and sure I found this company OM Van Lines last minute. I was offered a great deal to get my move done and it wasn't as expensive as I thought I was going to be. My wife and family are happy and just wanted to say thank you guys. You guys made this a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend."

"Nationwide receives the highest rating from me! Brandon freely offered me the most valuable information I could have ever used! Then, when he found out that he had another move going in the same direction as the one I was inquiring about, I was offered a deeper discount! When I need a substantial move, he and his company will be my choice!!! Sincerely, Rebecca McMillian"

Moving questions, answered by experts

It’s important to never lay a flat-screen TV on its side when moving. Weight can damage the fragile screen, and falling objects are a risk. Always place your TV upright between other large flat objects so it isn’t crushed when the load shifts on a turn. Use moving blankets to pad the space between the objects.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

Shipping a moving container costs around $3,000 on average, with a typical range of $2,000 to $5,000. For international moves, the price can be as high as $7,000. Costs fluctuate based on factors such as the container's size, weight, travel distance, demand, and fuel prices. To ensure you get the best deal, it is recommended to get quotes from at least three different companies.

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on.

If you need to lay the fridge down to move it, position the fridge door hinges so that doors won’t open while moving.

It’s best to pack things that are in storage and non-essential items first. Start by packing up items you are taking from your storage unit, garage or shed, basement, and attic. You should wait to pack essential items such as toiletries and medications last.
