On the way up they neglected to tie the sofa properly and had to go back down the steps. While carrying the sofa and loveseat up the steps apparently the couches were dragged along our tongue and groove pine boards that line the walls and made huge gauges in the wood.This cannot be repaired due to the age of the wood. My husband and I did not notice this until after these two movers left and I signed off on the paperwork. I immediately phoned and spoke to C J. He was not in any way interested in inspecting this damage and didn't believe they were in any way at fault. After much conversation I was offered $50.00 for $200.00 PAID for the gauges which ran the length of of our staircase walls. The damage far exceeds the cost of the move. I do not recommend hiring them to move anything as they have no regard for your property.

Workers were careful protecting our wood floors and very efficient and pleasant. We paid the minimum for a visit, which ended up including the actual moving because we lived so close by.

There was genuine concern about where we would like specific items placed and seeing to it we were pleased with their work.  We were impressed.

The crew arrived right on time and everything went smoothly.

I appreciated the in-home estimate.  The work crew was friendly, and they hustled.  I would definitely recommend.

This was a superb customer experience, start to finish. Charlie Atherton was recommended to us by a Westerly acquaintance. We had not planned ahead sufficiently, but Charlie went above and beyond the call of duty to squeeze this move into his busy schedule with just a week's notice. His team arrived promptly at the specified time, and were efficient, courteous, and friendly throughout the move, despite the 95-degree heat. When my mother mentioned that she didn't know how she was going to get rid of the old piano, they volunteered to drop it off at the town dump on the way to her new apartment. (There was a reasonable additional fee for this service.) My mother (who is 89) was delighted to have this chore taken care of.We whole-heartedly recommend Atherton & Sons Movers!! Thank you, Charlie and team!
