"Andrew was great on time and personable. He knew what he was doing and even showed me the issues. He fixed what he was able to and advised me on what I need to do next since the next issue was not the plumbing. When I was urgently looking for someone to come fix the leak I had, everyone else was unable to make it the day of. Andrew made it in an hour from speaking with him. I would recommend his services to anyone needing a plumber."

"They are good and prompt, but expensive. Project, replace toilet wax ring. Replace lavatory sink tail piece and lavatory sink stopper assembly I needed this done fairly quickly as the toilet was starting to drip water into a ceiling area below. The telephone staff who set up our appointment were great. Response time was short. Once the technician arrived, he was up front with pricing, so I knew what their price would be. I did postpone other less urgent work because of the price. The cost for these two items was almost $1000. Past experience with other plumbers would have been in the $700 range. However, TMS was available, and they were not If the price had been more in line, I will probably use them as my regular."

"They cut out the old dry wall, removed any and all mold, then replaced the dry wall, placed a tub and shower unit, they had their plumber come in and adjust our piping and install our new shower head and tub faucet all within 6-7 hrs. The installers were very nice, respectful, polite young men-- I would 10/10 recommend this company!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

In Canton, you will find several types of professionals handling plumbing. Master plumbers oversee projects and pull required municipal permits, while journeymen and apprentices work under their supervision. Because many local homes use propane or hydronic heating, specialized gasfitters and heating professionals are also common. Additionally, you can hire certified specialists for private wells and septic systems, which are prevalent throughout the area.

Helpful?

Historic homes in Canton frequently feature rubble stone foundations and outdated framing, making plumbing access difficult. Properties relying on private wells and septic systems require careful coordination to prevent cross-contamination. Furthermore, underground projects often hit solid bedrock, requiring specialized excavation equipment. Homes located near the Farmington River floodplain must also meet strict regulations to protect below-grade pipes from potential flooding.

Helpful?

When planning plumbing upgrades in CT, account for the deep 48-inch frost line to prevent exterior pipes from freezing during harsh winters. You must also consider your water source. Homes on private wells often face hard water that accelerates pipe corrosion. Finally, factor in local permit processing times and ensure any new fixtures will not overload your existing septic system capacity.

Helpful?

The longevity of your plumbing in CT depends heavily on managing your specific water quality. Installing appropriate treatment systems prevents acidic or hard well water from corroding your pipes. Success also requires burying exterior lines below the 48-inch frost depth to prevent winter bursts. Always hire local professionals who understand regional soil conditions, historic home construction, and strict municipal building codes.

Helpful?

Unexpected expenses during plumbing work in Canton often stem from addressing hard water or replacing failing well pumps. In historic homes, you often uncover outdated galvanized pipes or asbestos insulation that require safe removal. Additionally, excavating exterior lines frequently reveals rocky, glacially deposited soils that complicate digging. Uncovering hidden water damage from previously frozen pipes also expands your project scope.
