"I have used Fernandez painting for both interior and exterior painting, and the quality and professionalism of their team has been excellent. My exterior was done in May 2024 and they did an exceptional job! They did some minor repairs to my cedar shingles, primed and painted the entire house, and cleaned up every day before leaving. They were professional, considerate, and efficient. I highly recommend them for any painting work you may need!"

"Hired to paint entire interior of my condo which included removal of popcorn ceiling. The job was done beautifully and the price was reasonable and competitive when compared to other quotes. Jacob was a pleasure to work with, he kept my timeframe for getting the work done in mind. Highly recommended Propainters."

"Brothers & Brushes did a great job. The first visit with them was an easy process going over the room we wanted to get painted. Shawn and I walked the room pointing out imperfections that needed to fixed, he took pictures of the room and the things I requested to be fixed, a quote was emailed within a few days and they’re online contract was easy to understand, read and sign. When Brothers & Brushes was here while painting the room, they were asking if he had any concerns about there work, when they put the new wall paint on the wall, they asked if we liked it before painting the whole room. Their attention to detail was great."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Using a wire brush, forcefully scrub the surface to remove paint from metal. You’ll want to remove any lingering rust, too. For larger areas with caked-on rust, you may need to use a wire brush drill attachment. If the paint still won’t budge, apply a chemical paint stripper to the area and scrape off the paint, after following the paint stripper’s instructions.

Professionals may use a variety of methods to remove old paint from surfaces, often depending on the size and complexity of the surface. Paint scraping in combination with a chemical paint stripper is the most common method, but experts might also use heat or steam to loosen everything before peeling the paint off. Some might just sand off the old paint if the surface is relatively flat and easily accessible.

If you’re painting your home or monitoring a job as it’s being completed, squash the issue ASAP if you notice paint is getting onto the roof. Keeping it clean is one of the keys to extending your roof’s life.

Removing latex paint before it dries is much easier and lowers the risk of damaging your shingles (more on that below). Simply spray the spot with a hose for one to two minutes to clear away the drying paint. In general, this is a good way to remove ugly stains from your roof without using chemicals.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

You can remove powder coating with a chemical stripper, in a burn-off oven, or by sandblasting. Chemical strippers can remove most powder coatings in 20 minutes or less. But they are harsh and must be treated with care.
