"I hired Flatirons Plumbing to install a hose bib in my garage. This required them to run a pipe from the adjacent bathroom sink, through the drywall, into the garage. Flatirons was the second quote I got for this job. The competing quote was about 50% less, but the other plumber wanted to rip out a large section of drywall to find a pipe. I would have been responsible for replacing all that drywall afterwards, at unknown expense. Flatirons was able to drill a hole in the wall, with no other drywall damage. I docked one star for professionalism, because they tracked mud on my floor and did not clean it up."

"Gordon and his son are absolutely wonderful! They helped fix and unclog our french drain, which was completely backfilled with all sots of junk from my roof. They installed a pop-up drain on the end of the drain and totally fixed our issue quicker than can be. Called them yesterday afternoon, and we will fixed and ready to go by noon today! Excellent work, Gordon. We can't thank you enough!"

"I had a clogged kitchen drain on a weekend, a challenging time to find a reasonably priced plumbing company. After several unsuccessful calls, I made an appointment with an expensive service for the same day. I received a call back later in the day from Jason at Afford-a Router. He answered my questions and made an appointment for the same day. He arrived at the house, reviewed and resolved the problem in twenty minutes. He was professional, answered my questions, and the charge was very reasonable, considering it was a weekend. I highly recommend their services and will use them again."

"The only issue was with how the appointment time showed on HomeAdvisor. Drainline does appointment blocks when they could arrive (ex 10a-12pm). We thought we had a 9am appointment but found out we actually had a block between 9-11 when someone could show up. After we got past that, the work was priced well for what we needed and we're happy to have a new pipe."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Baking soda and vinegar aren’t just great for making a volcano for your kid’s science project. You can also pour this dynamic duo down your shower drain to dissolve hair clogs. If that doesn’t do the trick, you can step it up with a commercial liquid drain cleaner.

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

You should hire a sewer service professional to unclog a main sewer line with tree roots. Tree roots can grow into the main sewer line, and this problem requires a specialized hydro jet, or rooter, that is powerful enough to clear the roots. The tree can also damage the main sewer line, and a professional will need to make repairs or replace the damaged sections. Sewer line replacement costs about $60 to $250 per linear foot.
