"Excellent experience: We requested a quote through Angi and Chris was the first to call. We were impressed with his timeliness and professionalism from the onset. A written estimate was provided and approved, and the work began as scheduled. We had a new sprinkler system installed and could not be more pleased with the results. The installation process was efficient and the staff all courteous and respectful. We highly recommend Chris, his team, and company. This level of service and professionalism is rare. Thank you all so very much!!"

"GM Landscaping is an excellent firm. They undertook a major re landscaping for us. GM design suggestions greatly improved the project. The work quality was outstanding--especially the free form planter they constructed. This firm is professional, timely, flexible, and provides reasonable pricing. I recommend them without reservation."

"David and his crew were great! They showed up early every day until the job was complete and were completely professional. Our yard was a mess; when we moved in we did some quick DIY landscaping but most of it was put on hold since we were having a deck installed that was delayed. We reached out to David (found his information on this site) and he got back to me right away, came out and gave us a quote, and scheduled us for when the weather was nice enough to begin. We had a sprinkler system installed, sod, mulch, roses and some plants along the deck in our backyard. Everything came out better than expected - it's hard to believe a week ago our yard was just dirt and weeds and now it's beautiful. Definitely highly recommend."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

If you have a large area of brush and vegetation to clear, forestry mulching may be the best option. This method works well for relatively flat areas that don’t have many large rocks or mature trees to clear. Forestry mulching is a relatively quick process that improves soil health, reduces fire risk, and leaves behind usable mulch.

Yard waste should be professionally removed at least once per season, particularly during major landscaping projects, fall leaf accumulation, or after severe weather. Regular removal promotes lawn health and maintains a neat exterior.

To remove old grass effectively, you typically need to dig to one to two inches. This depth typically allows you to reach the root system of the grass, ensuring thorough removal. However, if the grass is a particularly dense or deep-rooted variety (such as Bermuda grass), or if you're planning to replace it with a different landscaping feature, you may need to dig deeper to loosen the soil and remove any underlying roots.

While leaves won’t fully decompose over winter, they will still continue to decompose, just more slowly than usual.

Removing leaves prevents mold growth and ensures grass gets sunlight and air circulation.
