"Norman was outstanding in handling a non-routine dishwasher installation. The water, electrical and drain connections were routine, but the adjacent cabinets were not plumb and square, and the floor and countertop were not level. Nevertheless, Norman demonstrated the focus, skill, patience, and resourcefulness to install the dishwasher level, in line with the cabinetry, and cosmetically and mechanically perfect. He never even looked at his watch."

"I would give Travis more than 5 stars if that were possible. I hired him through HomeAdvisor knowing that heâ s licensed and insured, to install a keyless door lock. Travis responded to my request immediately and he was polite, professional, and patient with my questions. He showed up on time and prepared to start the job. He met each obstacle that popped up, such as missing and broken parts, with workable solutions. I appreciated his attention to detail â and he also cleaned up the work site when finished. Travis went above and beyond to be certain everything was done well. I highly recommend Travis for any project."

"Countertop & Wall splash Refinish by Get a Grip Resurfacing On time, able to create a custom color similar to what I really wanted with a metallic finish that matches the chrome and oil brushed bronze and makes the white cabinets pop. Their prices are fair and they agreed to come back to repair some minor damage caused by the company that followed up with the painting of the cabinets. This is huge for me as I was really worried when I saw the damage. I highly recommend this company and will be using them on a second unit remodel. Show below are the before and after photos of my kitchen showing the refinished countertops and backsplash."

"I was moving in to a new place, that had some speakers already installed, but basically was missing everything else. So I called Luke he came out to my house and helped me figure out everything I would need to have a sweet setup. I will say it was really different working with Luke compared to a few other companies I had reached out to as well. He had spent time learning about me and not just what work I wanted done, from there he made a few suggestions on what we could do and made sure we could do everything right. No joke HE SAVED MY REAR!! I wanted to wall mount a TV and and hide all the wires like a few of my friends have, but before he would even give me a quote he required me to call my landlord and get the okay from them. If He hadn't done this I would have lost my ENTIRE deposit on my place, yet no one else I spoke with even thought of ask this. Once we knew what we could do he started looking for equipment he thought would work best, heck he even found me a stand with a mount on it so I could still got that look I wanted. Once I decided on the equipment he found me the best prices from in-stores to online. When the equipment showed up he was really easy to work with on getting out to the house and getting it installed, he showed up on time ready to go, set everything up perfectly, no wires were showing, and calibrated the sound to the room and made sure I understood how to use the system before I left. Since he was out at my house I have received multiple compliment from my friends, and have even recommended him to other people who have hired him and were just as happy. Thanks for everything Luke! -D"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

How long painted tiles last ultimately comes down to the quality of the paint job and how much wear and tear the tiles get. It’s possible the paint job will only last about six months if the tiles are in a high-traffic area and they weren’t properly cleaned, sanded, and primed prior to painting and sealing. Well-painted tiles in a low-traffic area should last at least a year.

Solvents dissolve tile adhesive, but the right solvent for the job depends on what type of adhesive you are trying to remove. For instance, dispersion adhesive requires stronger removers, like bile soap or even paint stripper, but some adhesives, like cement-based products, can come off with water and soap or mortar remover.

The best types of tiles for a shower are ceramic and porcelain tiles. These materials are durable, water-resistant, and easy to maintain, making them ideal for wet environments. Porcelain tiles are slightly more durable than ceramic. Both options come in a wide variety of styles, so you can achieve the perfect look for your bathroom.

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface.

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.
