"Halo is a newer company with a team of guys who trained people for this job before starting Halo. Steve was my third person to quote for AC install. He was punctual, very kind, patient and most important, not pushy. He explained the process, gave my quote and asked if he should contact me or if he should wait for me to contact him. I asked him to wait for me, and he did. Again, not pushy. Got my AC install within 3 days of my quote. Steve and Caleb came in and installed. On time, clean and explained what they were doing and I let them do their thing. Would highly recommend this company!"

Hello, I’m Jacob. I’m a father of three boys, six years old two years old and nine months. I’ve been an electrician for the past 12 years. I just started my business Ecliptic Electric and am working on getting it up and running. I’m a very hard-working and reasonable person and will always do the job to local and state code.

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

The time it takes for termites to damage a house varies, but it generally does not happen within days or weeks. Significant structural damage typically takes several months or years to occur, with serious damage often taking 3 to 8 years. The rate of destruction depends on factors like the termite colony's size and maturity, the type of wood they are feeding on, and local conditions. It can take 3 to 5 years for damage to become visible and 5 to 6 years for the home's structural integrity to be compromised. However, some species, such as Subterranean termites, are more destructive and can cause extensive damage in as little as 2 years. Because of this risk, it is important to treat your home as soon as you notice any signs of termites.

To clean a trash can with maggots, combine chlorine bleach and hot water in a 1-to-1 ratio and pour about half a gallon of the solution into the bottom of your garbage can. Just make sure there aren’t holes in the can before doing so. Close the lid, and let the fumes go to work to kill the maggots. Rinse the can with a hose outside. Consider finishing up with a bleach disinfectant and a scrub brush before letting the can dry completely. You can also consider hiring an exterminator near you for a quick, easy solution to maggots in your garbage cans.

If the cat is stray (you noticed a collar or other signs of domestication), the kind thing to do is to try and find the owner. Call around to other neighbors to see if they can lead you in the right direction. If you can get close enough to snap a picture, try posting an image of the cat to local community groups and pages on social media.

If the cat is feral, you can try to humanely trap them and participate in a local shelter’s TNR program. Before attempting capture, call around to local rescues and shelters to make sure one near you does participate in a TNR program. They may even be able to catch the cat for you.

Not likely. While the occasional spotted lanternfly insect may find its way in, it’s highly unlikely that spotted lanternflies will lay eggs and eventually infest your home because they prefer to live outdoors. If you’re concerned about the bugs getting inside, be sure to examine all humans, objects, and pets before bringing them indoors.

This varies based on the circumstance. Chemical-based pest control baits and poisons are usually the most potent, but they are unsafe to use around children and pets, so they won’t be a fit for every household.

Safer alternatives, such as boric acid and food-grade diatomaceous earth, can work as well, though they should still stay out of reach. Aside from that, the best thing any DIY-er can do is make their place uninviting by sealing off entry points, eliminating clutter, and maintaining a clean home.
