"I reached out to Anthonyâ s Chimney Sweeps for help with 1) application of a chimney crown coat seal, and 2) installation of a lock top chimney damper. My homeâ s crown coat had worn away and the damper had literally fallen off the chimney (probably due to a combination of raccoons and wind). Both Anthony and I had to be flexible with the timing of this job as he had vacation planned and the weather was a problem (rain and snow). However, it was super easy to work with Anthony and the communication was great! He kept me up to date on his schedule, and he worked with me when I needed to fit the work in to a very tight timeframe on my end. Anthony both called and texted me, as appropriate. He was pleasant explained everything thoroughly and to my satisfaction, and he was patient. He regularly asked if I had any questions. The bottom line is that he did what he said he would do in a timely fashion. There were zero problems. He even made a point to drop off the equipment I paid for in advance of his vacation so that I would have it. I paid $600 up front and $600 when the work was finished. Too, while he was on the roof, Anthony noticed that my roofer had failed to install a furnace cap and storm collar last year and brought it to my attention. He took pictures of everything so that I could see his work and what was going on on the roof. Now that this work has been done my house is much less drafty and Iâ ll recoup the cost of this repair over the next few months. Highly recommend and I will call Anthony again in the future."

"I was not happy about the cost of this work. I was given a price of $145 over the phone for standard cleaning but then was told after the tech got there that chemical deep cleaning was needed. This consisted of spraying a chemical up the chimney for a few minutes and then running the brush for 5-10 minutes down the length of the chimney . A total of maybe an hour was spent on this and the subsequent vacuuming of the firebox area.. In addition the cap was repaired, a job that took about 15 minutes to do. I ended up paying $445 plus $26 tax. Not sure why I was charged so much tax since this cost should have been basically labor (not materials). Considering what was done and the total time invested, including travel time and vehicle costs, I felt this excessive. Also the technician apparently didn't have a chimney camera to check the length of the chimney. He used the camera on his cell phone to provide followup photos that only showed the upper part of the chimney and not the total length. Thus, I remain uncertain about the condition of part of the liner that the photo wasn't able to show. The technician was courteous and did a good job on cleaning from what I could see from the photos that he sent me."
