"Andon arrived on time and was extremely helpful, knowledgable, and professional. He explained everything he was going to do and answered all my questions. The price was very reasonable! I will be using Euro Plumbing in the future for maintenance. Thank you so much!"

"Once again, Angie's List to the rescue. I have relied upon this service to pick many wonderful service providers for my home, and Afford-A Rooter is not exception. I chose this one because of the "service award" they have earned. They returned my call very promptly, scheduled help far more quickly than I had anticipated. AJ, the plumber, arrived on time and got right to work with his equipment, which, by the way, was a cleaner job than I have had before with other providers. The problem is solved! I am thrilled with Angie's List and will use this provider exclusively in the future. AJ was polite and skilled. Couldn't be more pleased!"

"Honest and good work can be hard to come by. Jay will get the job done right for a very reasonable cost, and he is incredibly kind on top of all that. So far Compass plumbing has: split pipes in my en suite bathroom from a single to a double sink, moved water lines from the floor to the wall to accommodate a floating vanity, moved a toilet location in my basement, replaced a water pressure regulator that was causing water hammer, and fixed a leak coming from the line going to our fridge. Definitely my go-to plumber!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

An underground water leak will most likely show signs of water damage in the basement. If you have a concrete foundation, look for frizzle lines and discoloration on the walls. Sometimes, you may be able to feel the moisture with direct touch. Also, if your basement smells musty or moldy, you might have an underground water leak that’s causing mold to form.

A plumbing emergency is a problem that threatens to severely damage your home or put your family at risk if not addressed immediately. If leaving the issue until regular business hours will cause more damage, it's an emergency. Examples include burst pipes, major leaks, significant drain clogs, a lack of hot water, a suspected gas leak, an out-of-control water heater, or a sewer line backup forcing gases into your home. Many home insurance policies will cover sudden and unexpected plumbing emergencies, provided they are not caused by homeowner negligence.

Sometimes. While many traditional homes use copper, galvanized steel, PVC, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and PEX, mobile homes will typically use PVC, CPVC, or PEX. These materials are more flexible, easier to work with, and handle colder temperatures.

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

A chipped bathtub could leak over time if you don’t take care of the issue. A tiny chip isn’t a big deal but may eventually grow into a larger crack. As the months go by, the tub’s barrier against moisture becomes weakened, making it prone to leaking. Large chips can also cause the tub to rust and even crack in half.
