"The plumber, Carlos, was very professional and made sure he cleaned up any mess from the replacement of the disposal. He checked that it worked several times. Very pleasant person."

"It went well. It's just that the guy was kind of stubborn and wouldn't listen to us. When he was taking the toilet out, we just kept asking him to wrap the bottom in a trash bag. He was going, "Oh, it's fine. It's not going to leak. It's not going to leak." We kept giving him trash bag saying, "Please." He just ignored the trash bag and took it out to the curb and it just leaked toilet water all throughout the house. It was just him, his attitude. We kept trying to tell him to do it and he wouldn't listen. He goes, "I do this all the time. It's not going to leak." And then, when it leaked all over he is going, "Oh, that's clean water anyways. That's clean water." It was coming from the bottom of the toilet and you can't clean that part. It was $200 for the toilet, installing it and price of the toilet. He said it was additional $60 or $70 to install the water shut off valve. I thought the toilet was okay but the valve was over priced. He showed up on time."

"We were in town for a few days trying to get some things taken care of with our Colorado home prior to our move from North Carolina. We received excellent customer care from Les at DMC Services. He was punctual for the appointments. He clearly explained the work needed and the cost. The work performed was quality and the cost was fair for the time spent and products installed. We could not have been more pleased with the attention to detail and customer care. We will use DMC Services for our future HVAC needs and highly recommend the company."

"

Saw a special offer on Angie’s List for a garbage disposal swap-out at a reasonable price ($99).  I had a 12-year-old disposal that was leaking, so knew it had to be replaced, and had already purchased a new, quieter one.  All’s I needed was a technician that could do the install. He arrived as scheduled and got the new unit installed with only a minor pipe modification. New disposal works great!

The offer required a pre-pay, which I was somewhat hesitant to do but trusted that Angie’s List wouldn’t have included this offer if it weren’t legit.  The work was done at the quoted price; no additional charges. BTW  I found the ‘preferred timeframe’ at signup wasn’t very helpful because it all depended on the times/days the tech had available. Fortunately, the email Angie’s List sent me had the technician’s name and number, so a simple call to him was all that was needed to set up the service call.

"We came home late Saturday night from Thanksgiving holiday travel. As soon as we opened the door to our house, we knew there was a problem, the whole house smelled like old, stagnate water.

We called Above All Cleaning and Restoration that night and spoke to Marc.  He had a team at our house the Sunday morning (our choice, nothing seemed to necessitate work late Saturday night).  They quickly diagnosed our issue, explained the plan and got to work.  Within 45 min the drying process was going, they removed everything that needed to be replaced and were out the door.

The process took longer than initially anticipated, Above All was great to work with. They took the time to show/explain the steps and process and were flexible dealing with the situation as new issues arose.

Marc provided us with a detailed explanation of the work and the costs associated.  Given the timing (Sunday of a Holiday weekend) his pricing was very fair.  Above All's work and customer service are exceptional, everyone is very respectful, knowledgeable and results focused.

Above All took what we thought was going to be a complete disaster and made it a minor inconvenience. I will recommend Above All to friends and I will hire Marc again if necessary."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.
