"970 Pro Painting and its owner Lui Herrera have been amazing with painting projects not only in our office building, but also our business office. The work was performed perfectly from the bidding process through completion. Extremely clean, precise and professional in all aspects of our interactions. Truly an stress-free experience. Highly recommend and will use again for our painting projects in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"Such a fantastic job! And talk about efficient: They came on Monday to tape and were done by Wednesday. I could not ask for a better company to do this job. They also do flooring and many other things. We will hire them to do all of our work now. They can do it all! We did not plan to be able to move into our new house until July 15. It is now June 19 and we move in tomorrow."

"AK did a fabulous job on painting our entire 3- bedroom, 2 floor condo. Aaron's work product is super high quality and to our surprise/delight, he completed our job a day early! We called 5 painters and got three estimates and he offered the most reasonable price, by far. Aaron is one of the most polite people I've ever met. I refer to him as 'low impact man' as he keeps all of his materials contained and was quiet as a mouse - we didn't even know he was there as he made his way around the house painting every wall. Also, he always let me know exactly what time he would be arriving each morning and gave me traffic updates too so I always knew if he would be 5 or 10 mins delayed. I would HIGHLY recommend AK Painting - I can't wait to refer AK some business! Aaron was super respectful and always wore his mask (Covid) and protective eqiupment. The zero VOC paint he uses meant almost no smell too!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

Yes, but with caution. A floor grinder is intended to level and polish concrete, so it is a very powerful tool. To remove paint, the floor grinder should be set to 35 square feet per minute or less to minimize the pressure without the use of pocket weights. You might need to go over the surface two times to get any paint that has sunk into the concrete’s pores.

Yes, WD-40 can be used to remove dried paint, including spray paint, from surfaces like metal because it acts as a solvent. To use this method, spray enough WD-40 to completely cover the paint and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Afterward, gently scrub the area with a cloth to remove the paint. Be aware that this method might leave behind a greasy film that can attract dirt.

Some methods of removing paint from metal that use physical force, like scraping or grinding, may damage the metal. Other methods like chemical strippers or acids are unlikely to damage the metal underneath, but take care using any method to strip paint to minimize the chance of damage.
