"Called via phone, asked for an estimate and was quoted a great price. I called another company prior to calling 5 Star Plumbing and another company wanted to charge me 4 times the amount. Peter arrived early, installed the part, and tested the water heater. Provided excellent work and customer service. Highly recommend and would use his services again. Peter also came out within 10-15 minutes after speaking to him since we're located nearby. Thanks!"

"Mike arrived within the estimated timeframe and went right to work.  We also appreciate that he placed paper covers on his shoes to avoid tracking anything into the house.
Mike immediately saw the need to replace the hot and cold water intake valves as part of the new install - something I would not have known.  Also, obviously, he has all the right tools for the job.  That's why we prefer to use a professional rather than attempt DIY fixes.
Mike did the whole job in just about an hour.  Before he left, he even made sure that I understood the new faucet has a lifetime warranty, so be sure to call the manufacturer if anything at all goes wrong.  That's the extra measure of customer service that The Plumbing Therapist always provides.
We have used The Plumbing Therapist in the past and we are always impressed with their promptness, friendliness, courtesy, honesty, professionalism and the quality of the work.  The cost of the service was exactly as estimated and included the promised 15% off labor for Angie's List members.
You don't think much about how often you go to the kitchen sink every day until it's out of action for a few days!  Now we have a nice new faucet.
Thank you, Mike and Bonnie!

"Plumber responded the same day I called. I already purchased the parts and he installed them. He was done in 3 hours and did a very good job. It was a little more money than I expected, but when you get quality work you have to pay for it. I would use this company again. And I recommend them."

"Matt has done various extra jobs for me that pertain to maintaining my pool.  A pump replacement that was required resulted in a reduction in my electric bill....just as he said it would.  Also, I had a light out in the pool that three other companies said they could not fix.  Some tried and could not fix it because they couldn't get the wiring out due to too many "U" turns in the wiring.  Matt said he could fix it and I had my doubts.  He came and had it fixed and working in about 1 hour!

"They were very professional and on time. They were very clean and tidy. They arrived on time and completed when they said they would. I have no complaints with their service. The price was also fair for the work performed. They came in at a reasonable price compared to several bids we received."

"During a house purchase US Trenchless came out and scoped the main sewer line.  They gave me a detailed report.  They also gave me a quote to replace the line.  After doing some comparison shopping US Trenchless beat a competitors low bid by 10%.  The work was done on time and professionally.  I would recommend them and use them again.  Ross and Tim were great."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.
