"We have a rental in Lancaster, and the tenant called to say that one sprinkler zone had been running for about 2½ hours.  I tried to talk them through looking for the valve, but it wasn't successful.  I called Josh based on the stellar reviews here, and got his voicemail.  The ONLY negative thing I'll say about him is that if I hadn't read the reviews, I wouldn't have felt confident based on his outgoing message. 
When he called back (within 10 minutes, by the way) those less-than-confident feelings were completely assuaged.  He just happened to be very close to our property, and said he'd stop there on his way to his next job.  He was there in 5 minutes.
He shut the valve off, and called to tell me that it was a bad solenoid, and also another valve was leaking.  I told him that I knew he had another job to go to, and that I had a regular gardener who could make the repairs on his next trip.  I thanked him for the speedy trip, and asked him how he'd like to settle up, i.e. credit card, check etc.  He said, "If your gardener can do the repairs, then don't worry about it, you don't have to pay me, I was right here."

"I continue to use RCC handyman because of the quality of work that they performs in a timely manner. the crew is very respectful and as a single woman that makes me feel comfortable. I have never had to call them back to fix something that they had already repaired. I had them paint one of the houses on the inside and the house had hardwood floors there was not a speck of paint on the wood flooring. They do great work they show up when they say they get finished when they say. I like it when they leave it’s as if they were never there they clean up everything …. "After purchasing a Big Deal, I played phone tag trying to get an appointment.  Then I let the coupon sit until it almost expired.  I was able to get in touch and schedule an appointment immediately.  The crew arrived on timely and was very polite and professional.  While I have 2 a/c units, we chose to only do one (the second was not included on the coupon).  I got a lot of good advice about a/c filters and our ductwork.  I was told there was some mold (this is Houston) but that it could not be cleaned without a special appointment.  All the dust/dirt was cleaned. We discussed the pros/cons of replacing the ductwork as it is old.  This is something we have been in discussions with our regular a/c service provider about.  When it came to the dryer vent - the reason is was so dirty is that there was a gaping hole.  The service rep carefully explained what I needed to replace it, sent my son out to purchase it at Home Depot, then waited for his return to install the new one. 
I was happy that they asked about pets.  I have a 17 year old dog who still likes to escape and everyone was mindful of her silently slipping towards the open front door.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
