"I wanted to convert a shower tub combo to a shower with a low entry so that I could accommodate my 93 year old parent in my home. I got several bids and most of them were really high and used really thin plastic materials. Pro Stone by Molina gave me a competitive bid using manufactured stone material instead of those plastics offered by the other bidders. I have had several bad experiences with contractors in the past and I have to say that working with Esteban at Pro Stone was really refreshing. He gave me an itemized contract before he started and we made sure to include everything. He started the job when he said he was going to and finished the job when he said he was going to. He went out of his way to make sure I was completely satisfied with the job even tearing out and redoing some work that I think other contractors would have simply patched. I would use him again in a minute for any work I have in my home and recommend him unreservedly to anyone I know."

"I am very pleased with the work done by JV Cabinets. They were timely and very responsive throughout the process. The refacing of the cabinets and updating the hinges have transformed the kitchen. The stone counter top is made of quality stone and was installed wonderfully. I will definitely have JV Cabinets do the kitchen in my other unit when the time comes."

"When I needed to do an emergency kitchen remodel due to water damage and exuberance of a local remediation company, I selected Adval due to their full-service contractor capability, reputation for quality, and willingness to work with me and my budget. Michael Yugo was particularly helpful, giving me insight and ideas as to how to approach fixing the red-oak floor, torn-up cabinets, drywall, plumbing, countertop, and kitchen cabinets. The job was started promptly and completed on time, with activity continuous throughout (unlike some contractors who might leave your job-site idle for weeks). I am very pleased with the result and care they took, and would consider them first for any additional new work."

"Job was completed per request. After we pointed out our concerns, they worked with us to completion. It took slightly longer to complete, but it was well worth the wait. Many other contractors would probably walk and not address any concerns, but BeHome finished. I would strongly recommend BeHome to do your job. They are professional and friendly."

Cabinet Contractors FAQs, answered by experts

The cost to install soft-close drawers professionally typically ranges from $40 to $100 per drawer. If you prefer a DIY approach, you can purchase the necessary hardware yourself. Soft-close inserts usually cost between $15 and $25 per drawer, while soft-close drawer slides can range from $5 to $230 each, depending on factors like quality, quantity, and type (e.g., heavy-duty, side mount, under mount, or self-closing). Investing in soft-close mechanisms can be worthwhile as they eliminate slamming and may help extend the lifespan of your drawers.

Since there are many methods of repairing your cabinets, including refacing and refinishing, it can be tricky to know when to replace or fix your existing cabinets. Generally, it’s best to repair your existing cabinets when the cabinet boxes are in good condition. Additionally, this option is best when you’re being budget-friendly or remodeling.

Replacing your cabinets is best when you’re changing the layout of the room or when the cabinet boxes are in rough shape. It’s also best to replace your cabinets if you need more storage space, as this will remove the existing cabinets for new ones.

Installing custom cabinets is a great remodeling project to add value to your home. The return on investment can be over 70%. If you don’t have the budget for all new custom cabinets, try refacing your existing cabinets instead. This can still freshen up a tired kitchen and help make your home appealing to potential buyers.

Kitchen base cabinets are the cabinets that sit on the floor in your kitchen—and yes, you can stack base cabinets. Usually, homeowners stack kitchen base cabinets when building a pantry. Base cabinets come in various styles, with doors, drawers, and glass fronts—so your options for creating stacked base cabinets are endless.

Careful measurement is crucial—measure multiple times and account for hardware thickness, seasonal wood movement, and clearance requirements. Test-fit components before final assembly, and consider building one drawer as a prototype before cutting materials for multiple units.
