"GREAT.  We'd had another company out in Sept. to fix the a/c and they told us we needed a new one.  I didn't believe it, so I called Absolute to check it out.  Within 15 min. of being there, service man informed me that when a new Honeywell Smart Thermostat was installed by the other company in the spring of 2014, they neglected to wire for the two stages of cooling for our two stage system.  He quickly fixed that, then, following my directions, turned on the water to the swamp coolers, turned them on, and inspected them to make sure they were working properly--no leaks, actually cooling the house, etc..  Everything works great now.

"Great. My daughter contracted Air Duct Professionals to do her home. James, the technician, was professional, knowledgeable and did a quality job. I contacted Air Duct to do my home and requested James. James arrived on time and did an excellent job. He also helped me with a leak with my HVAC Condenser and diagnosed and fixed the issue."

Small jobs welcome

"Only firm that realized an upgraded filter system was appropriate for the requested air scrubber. Contracted to have them replace 30 year old HVAC unit and ductwork. Completed project within 7 days of hiring. Highly recommend."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.

Yes. It's normal for the AC compressor to cycle on and off intermittently in dry mode as it maintains the desired humidity level. The compressor cycles to prevent over-dehumidification and to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. This cycling behavior ensures efficient operation and optimal humidity control, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the dry mode function in your AC system.

Condensation forms when warmer, outside air combines with cooler air in your ductwork. This can happen when there are leaks in your air ducts, your HVAC system has a dirty air filter, or there’s a lack of insulation around the ducts. To prevent it from happening, replace your HVAC filters as directed. Also, once every five years, hire a local air duct cleaner to clean and inspect them.

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.

Yes, it’s best to turn off an AC unit that’s blowing hot air to prevent system damage and avoid expensive energy bills. If you let the AC continue running, it will put more strain on the condenser coil and compressor. Plus, if the AC is blowing hot air because of a refrigerant leak, it can also lead to a frozen evaporator coil.
