"Larry was great to work with. I called him and he answered the phone directly and made himself available to discuss the work with me and answer all of my questions on the spot. I had previously tested samples of the ceiling with a lab that only does testing to check if the popcorn ceiling contained asbestos, which it did. I let Larry know this and I then gave him measurements of the room. He was able to give me an estimate over the phone and discussed my scheduling options including the time it takes to request a permit and if I needed to rush the job I could pay a bit more for an emergency permit. All Clear takes care of all of this, you just need to fill out 2 simple forms. Larry was very informative and thorough. I had a bunch of questions and he was helpful and patient with me which I appreciated. After reading the reviews on Angie?s list and having our phone conversation I was confident with choosing All Clear and did not look for a second estimate.

His crew was very professional and respectful. They took my ceiling fan down and put all the screws in a ziploc bag for me.The work took about 5 hours or so. They covered the room walls and floor with heavy duty plastic and left the room very clean and took all of the debris with them. My house is 110 years old and I asked them remove the plaster off the ceiling so that I can do electrical updates and put up new dry wall. I was concerned that the plaster might also contain asbestos and had not tested it. Larry said it was unlikely to have asbestos, but suggested he test the plaster the day of the job just to make sure. I really appreciate him accommodating me at no extra charge. The plaster did not contain asbestos, but I had them remove it anyway due to the convenience of having it done professionally and cleaned up afterwards. I felt the price was fair and worth it. Overall, they did a great job and I would recommend them.
The only thing I didn?t confirm was whether they did any air test samples after the room was cleaned up. I read some other companies do that and I?m not 100% sure if All Clear does that as well.

"From the first day we started dealing with Tamir and the team at Pure Restoration we knew we were going to have a good experience - because he LISTENED. Issues were discussed and laid out before they became actual problems and Tamir's experience helped us to avoid many simple mistakes that are often made by homeowners. All of the work was done professionally. Permits were pulled and inspections were passed. Tamir communicated all of our needs to his subcontractors and our insurance company, and all of the crew working in our home were responsible and had very positive attitudes. Tamir also communicated his needs (code issues, etc.) to us. Throughout the job we all collaborated with a designer whose ideas were embraced by Tamir and his team (which is pretty rare). Progress was made on the job every day - and the workplace was kept clean and protected. We have already referred Tamir to our friends, and, based on having just passed our last inspection, we will continue to do so. Our house looks great and we are very happy."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Traditionally, you place a layer of ⅜-inch foam board beneath aluminum siding. This gives you a smooth surface to which you can fasten the trim and siding. Beneath the foam board, you should have some kind of waterproof sheathing to further protect your home from water damage. It’s possible this sheathing is already under your current siding.

The telltale signs that your home is ready for repointing include visibly damaged bricks, crumbling bricks, flaking bricks, loose mortar, cracked mortar, gaps between brick and mortar, leaking inside your home, and visible water damage. Consider repointing when going over brick house pros and cons if you're buying a new home. Repointing is also a good idea if you plan to paint, acid wash, or stain your brick home, as it will give you a good base for coloration and prevent repairs after the work is done.

Hardie board is more expensive than vinyl siding. Vinyl siding costs $3 to $12 per square foot, on average, with cost skewing toward the lower end of that range. Hardie board siding costs $7 to $18 per square foot, depending on the style, color, and trim. However, it lasts twice as long and often looks nicer, meaning you’ll see a higher bump in your home value and greater curb appeal from Hardie board.

The average cost to install stucco siding on a home is around $5,700, with most homeowners paying between $2,200 and $9,100. However, the total cost can range from $750 to as high as $22,750 depending on several factors. On average, you can expect to pay between $7 and $9 per square foot. Key cost factors include the size and complexity of your home, the desired color and texture, labor and material costs in your area, and whether you have a multi-story home. Specific applications have different costs, such as adding stucco over brick ($7 per square foot) or over wood siding ($8.50 per square foot). To save money, you can consider removing the old siding yourself or scheduling the installation during the off-season.

Before applying paint to exterior surfaces, filling any cracks or gaps with caulk is essential. Sealing them with a combination of caulk and paint prevents moisture from damaging the paint or decaying the underlying material. You want to ensure the caulk you purchase can be painted over or that you opt for a caulk the same color as the paint.
