"The move couldn't have gone better. Communication was excellent, and the timing of the move went exactly as expected. The gentlemen who performed the move were friendly, professional, and very careful. Their experience was very evident. I would definitely hire Affordable Piano Movers again, should the need to move my piano comes up. A+++++"

"The three movers who came to work with us arrived on time and were very nice gentlemen. It took about half an hour to take the piano out of the apartment and load it in the truck.  When they finished moving I checked everything and it was absolutely without any scratches or something. Super nice and reliable service."

"It went well, they arrived right at the middle of my arrival time window. They went over the paperwork with me. Then went straight to work. I did not realize that you have to mention every single thing you want moved so I had to ask them at the end to load up my entire walk in closet that had a dresser in it as well. Along with the potted plants and water dispenser. I didn't realize it but they left my ikea cubes in the spare closet so I hat to move that on my own today. Other than that, It was a great experience. I never want to move again, but if I did, I would hire them again."

"Last month we moved our 3 year old apartment to our newly build home. One of the main difficulty was moving our $1500 kitchen reno safely. Some high cost items there. My office staff said about CalState moving company when I needed a professional service. Their moving team in morning with their truck and we talked about a fair service fee. We both satisfied with it and they start to pack everything to their truck.moving process was very professional and all items handled with care. With their good work, we got moved all our items with zero damage .I like to use their service again and very happy to talked about them here."

"Everything went seamlessly. The movers, Kevin & Mike, arrived earlier than scheduled today (a Saturday), and they started immediately once the door was opened for them. They worked nonstop until the move was complete. They were fabulous. I have hired this company perhaps 5 or 6 times in the last two years for different moves, and they have always been reliable, efficient, and excellent to work with-- so I keep calling them back."

"Redlands Moving sent some of the best movers I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Not only did they work their butts off all day knocking out two flights of stairs, but they were able to get the job done within our budget with ease. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for professional moving services."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.

Tipping movers is not mandatory, and most professional companies do not expect it. However, it is a common way to show appreciation for their hard work and the care they take with your belongings and home. A standard tip is between 10% and 20% of your total bill, split among the crew, or about $10 per mover per hour, tipped individually. It's an especially good idea to tip if the movers work in difficult weather, handle specialty items like pianos or pool tables, provide extra packing services, or go above and beyond your expectations.

In most cases, you don’t need to order food for movers. They will schedule breaks to eat throughout the day. However, you can provide drinks and snacks in an easy-to-access location for the movers to grab throughout the day.

Moving straps like forearm or shoulder straps can usually support up to 800 pounds, sometimes more with specialized straps. However, that doesn’t mean that one person can always lift that much weight, just that the straps are rated for that amount. For example, some straps require two people working together to balance the weight of the heavy item.

The first step to choosing a relocation company is determining the distance of your move, types of services needed, and how many professional movers you need to hire. Once you set the parameter of your move, get price quotes from at least three local moving companies to compare pricing. Then, choose a relocation company that fits within your budget, supplies the necessary services, and has positive reviews from previous moving customers.
