"It went really well! Gino Henn, the general contractor, is a man of his word! He sincerely wants the job done as if it was his own home. The men he has working on each part of the project show up consistently, they prepare the house to keep it as tidy as possible through the process, they are nice and respectful to work with and so good at what they do! I was very impressed with Gino‘s ability to connect with someone to do a specific job and be here as soon as I had a need. We had to move some air conditioning ducting in addition to the remodel. The patching and painting was so good that you can’t tell it happened! I love my new kitchen and bathroom, thanks to Gino and his amazing crew!"

"When we think of family we think of the family members who have our back. They are willing to go that extra mile to make sure all is taken care of and weâ re happy. Such is the case with ADAR Builders. The extended family that makes sure your building dreams come true. A father, and two sons take charge as you add to or remodel your home. No job is too small or too large. They take their time in getting the details right so thereâ s no downtime later. The ADAR family cares for their customers and it shows. Problems that occur during the job are taken care of quickly and professionally. Not that there are a lot of problems during construction, but when there is concern, ADAR Builders is right there. When you hire a construction company youâ re looking for a partner that can guide you through the building process. ADAR Builders works with the client, listens to their concerns and suggests ways that their goals can be accomplished. From design to the final walkthrough ADAR Builders is there, every step of the way, guiding the client so their vision is realized. We met with many construction companies before deciding on ADAR Builders. I guess what sealed the deal for us, was that we knew we were dealing with family and whatever happens, we were in good hands. Amit, our project director, listened to our ideas and and gave us suggestions on how to implement them. We saw Amit many times during that initial phase, always refining and making sure that our plans were clear and concise. Talking about a project and then seeing 3 dimensional plans brings your project to life. Looking at our planned addition, with our actual furniture, gave us a realistic view of what could be accomplished. As we listened to Amit we knew that we were in good hands, and our project would be successful, brought in on time and budget. As you decide on what construction company will handle your project, donâ t be afraid to ask questions. Ask how long will it take to complete the project. Finally, lock down a price so there are no surprises at the end. Remember to be flexible when it comes to the timeframe, things happen (rain delays, illness building supplies out of stock). Also be aware that you will probably make changes to your plan, adding and subtracting items. This will affect the timeline and even the cost. Thank you ADAR Builders for working with us, and for us, to create our vision and bring it to life. Bob Sachs Karen Sachs"

"In ten years of buying and selling properties, hiring contractors to improve the homes can be a challenge. If you need a contractor, please save yourself time and grief, Ouri’s « Universal Home Design » is the dream company to work with. I am not kidding. Ouri and his team are the most pleasant, competent, responsive, on time, budget conscious people I have ever worked with. The work is flawless and the result is there to prove it. The addition to my house is gorgeous and makes my home stand out in the whole neighborhood. My family is still in awe with the quality and the integrity of Universal Home Design’s work. Honestly, I couldn’t say enough good things regarding my experience of working with Ouri and his team!"

"I could not recommend Ben Oded and his team more. I've now worked with Ben on multiple projects, including a new bathroom, renovations of existing bathrooms, electrical, plumbing, and most recently, an ADU, and on every occasion, Ben and his team have delivered. Ben is honest, reliable, and direct. When he says he is going to do something, I never have to worry about it getting done. He'll also be very honest with you about what's possible and at what price. There are also numerous examples of Ben going above and beyond. One such example was around my wedding. The week before the wedding, we lost all hot water...We had multiple plumbers over, but no one could find the solve. Two days before the wedding, we were scrambling. I called Ben, and within an hour, we had a plumber over, who fixed the issue and at a fraction of the cost. I could not recommend Ben more. Call him for your home or investment property renovation needs..you won't regret it!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.

Balancing aesthetics with functionality amidst space planning is important. To do so, you could consider consulting both an interior designer and an architect to fulfill both these needs. Or you can tackle it on your own by prioritizing personal touches amidst space planning that add to the look but don't take away from the livability of the space.

Mediterranean architecture comes from traditional building styles of countries on the Mediterranean Sea mixed with French, Greek, and Moroccan influences. There are three main types of Mediterranean architecture: Italian Renaissance, Spanish Revival, and modern.

Some signature components of Mediterranean architecture include red terra cotta roofs, archways, stucco siding, and metal detailing on windows. These homes often have balconies and outdoor living areas.

The early stages of building a house are harder than the later stages; laying the foundation and framing the house are two of the most challenging steps. However, it varies for everyone. Some people have difficulty installing HVAC, plumbing, and electricity, while others find it harder to plan the house and secure the necessary permits.
