"We interviewed many contractors for this job. In the end, it boiled down to the good rapport with Nathan. On the plus side, his work is beautiful and his workers always showed up as promised. He never quibbled about some concerns we had throughout. But, we were up sold some work, (which we likely needed anyway) but were under the gun to make a decision and had to haggle under those conditions. Also, he sometimes requires multiple messages to get a response. Overall, very, very pleased with results and recommend to anyone."

"HIC builders is a family owned company, and they did a terrific job at my house. We added an ADU above the garage, remodeled two bathrooms, and did other extensive work on the house. Abraham, the field manager, was responsive and available, flexible when plans needed to change to accommodate structural issues that we discover as the project progressed, and answered my endless questions. The workmen were always on time, courteous, and cleaned up the site every day before they left. "Oury at Universal Home Design did a spectacular job on the renovation of our condo in Pasadena. We completed two total bathroom renovations, replaced a fireplace, and touched up a variety of other small projects throughout the home. Oury set a fair price with a clear understanding that I would pay for all of the finishes (such as tile, vanities, faucets, etc...). I was out of town for the entire project, and Oury communicated with me every step of the way, always checking in to confirm how I wanted things done and sending photos as each phase of construction was completed. He and his team were quick, efficient, trustworthy, and they paid attention to every detail. The final product is beautiful. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a contractor, and I can't recommend him highly enough!"
