"In the middle of having my flooring installed, we discovered that I had asbestos in my kitchen and bathroom- the flooring installers walked out of the job immediately. I had 3 companies come and give me bids. San Diego Abatement Services was the most professional and knowledgeable. They scheduled the job the day after I called. They were polite, efficient, and did exactly what they promised to do. They were not the least expensive- but my confidence in a perfect job and the safety of my home was more important. They sent me the certificate of a clean air test so I can now finish my floors!"

"My husband and I are over the moon with the work Krugh Custom Services preformed at our house. We needed dry wall and painting done. Every employee showed up on time and proceeded professionally. They went above and beyond to ensure our house stayed clean while they were performing their work. After the work was finished Dave the owner called to ensure we were pleased with the work of his team. We will be needing the outside of our house painted in the next few month and we will for sure being hiring Krugh Custom Services for that job as well. Couldn't recommend this company enough!"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.

Keeping radon from getting into your home is much better than having to get rid of it once it's already indoors. While there may not be a way to fully prevent radon from getting into your home, there are things you can do to reduce the gas's ability to enter.

Sealing foundation cracks and openings can help keep the gas from seeping inside. Improving air flow, such as by opening windows, can also be helpful. If you're building your home from scratch, talk to your contractor about using radon-resistant construction to keep the gas out.

No, radon mitigation systems do not decrease home value or make a home harder to sell. In areas where homes experience similar radon exposure risks, a radon mitigation system is viewed as an improvement. Potential homebuyers often opt to buy a home with a radon mitigation system already installed to reduce the risk of cancer for their families.

Radon is the number one non-smoking cause of lung cancer in the United States, but it can cause some other concerning side effects in the meantime. If you have a raspy voice, chest pains, trouble breathing, difficulty swallowing, or any of the above, don’t hesitate to perform radon testing and install a mitigation system as soon as possible.
